Ivy: I have just graduated university in Scotland and I am now very excited to travel and meet new people in the world. I am half German- half Scottish and speak both languages fluently. Playing guitar and singing, reading, being outside brings me a lot of happiness. I also love to cook, and love to experiment. I very much enjoy meeting new people and being part of something that feels meaningful.

Matthew: I have always enjoyed being outdoors and doing "hands on" work such as joinery, carpentry and gardening/farming. I used to run my own joinery business and made items such as doors, cabinets, gates, and furniture. I am keen on finding a workaway where I can put my skills to use perhaps in a renovation project. I am keen to develop my skills and gather some new ones perhaps in a new trade such as masonry work.

I was born in Scotland and have lived here all my life, I am keen to get out and live somewhere else for a while (and finally see the sun!). I have a university degree and have a full uk driving license so can I can drive manual vehicles if required. In my free time I love to listen to music, read, walk my dog, paint, and do odd jobs for the local community.

I have always been very interested in languages. Growing up bilingual, the importance that language plays has always been very apparent to me. I find it fascinating the way in which my personality can shift depending on whether I am speaking English or German. Since I have been sixteen, I have been leading German conversational teaching classes, which has taught me a lot about the ways in which people pick up a language.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Ivy: I speak English and German fluently and I am quick to pick up on new languages. I have experience in submerging myself in other cultures and surroundings as I have moved countries and travelled. A few years back I worked in a community run organisation for families in need, which taught be a lot about teamwork, communication and patience. I have had jobs in bars, venues, and as a German Tutor, all of which have have solidified my love for meeting and engaging with new people. I am confident in being able to share my knowledge of German with others and would love to learn other languages too! In University I got a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and English Language & Linguistics. I really enjoy practical work, I am a good cook, I enjoy painting and making things with my hands.

Matthew: I have practiced the trade of joinery for 10 years and have developed my skills and tool set over the years. Winning awards at the Royal highland show for my furniture and bowl work. I have helped my father with various renovation and building projects. I can drive, I am a good cook and baker and enjoy experimenting with new recipes. I have worked in joinery, as a waiter, a beer brewer, and am currently a warehouse manager for a suitable plastic company. I have got a bachelors degree in Business management and entrepreneurship.
