Description

Hi! I’m Isla, a veterinary student from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 with a strong love for animals, the outdoors, and cultural exchange. Horses have been a huge part of my life for many years, and my ideal Workaway placement would involve working with them alongside day-to-day animal care.

I’ve loaned and ridden horses for years and am a confident rider, able to walk, trot, canter, jump, and hack out independently. I’ve gained extensive hands-on experience through regular riding, general horse care, and being a member of my university’s riding team. As part of my veterinary studies, I also hold certification in animal handling, which I’m happy to provide if required.

Alongside animal care, I have experience babysitting children and feel confident helping with childcare if needed. I really enjoy cooking and would be more than happy to assist with meal preparation as part of daily life. I’m a hard-working, reliable, and motivated person who enjoys being hands-on and contributing wherever needed.

I love being outdoors and staying active through hiking, running, swimming, and playing netball. I’m keen to explore nature and more of your country while I’m there, so access to public transport or a vehicle would be ideal. I have a full, clean UK driving licence.

Music has always been an important part of my life, and I’ve played from a young age. I’d be more than happy to share some traditional Scottish music with you. As part of my travels, I’d also love the opportunity to learn some of your language and immerse myself in local culture.
