Hey everybody!
My names Hailey, and I am a 21 year old college student in the United States. I am currently a senior at a college in North Carolina and my plan is to take the summer of 2024 to be a Workawayer and expand my knowledge of other countries and cultures. I think it is so important for everybody to explore other cultures and truly experience and understand cultures outside of where you live. I am so excited to meet other people, truly connect on a deep level with my hosts, learn and experience life outside of what I am used to, and hopefully teach something new to other people. I don't have a specific destination in mind yet, as I am open to absolutely anywhere that I feel called to.
I am extremely spontaneous and absolutely love with all my heart being outside. I personally find it so so important to be outside daily whether it's exploring the mountains by hiking or biking, doing yoga out in my backyard, or simply sitting outside reading a nice book. I go to school in the Appalachian Mountains so I have been getting into learning how to snowboard with my friends which has been a fun hobby. I find being outside is incredible for one's health and it makes me the best version of myself being in the outdoors as much as possible. I hope to connect with people in the next few weeks and lockdown plans for summer 2024!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Ever since I was little my grandparents own a large farm in Georgia, US and I would frequently spend many weeks of my summer helping out on the farm growing up. I would help in their garden, the uptake and care of cows, horses, chickens and goats, help in the building organizing tools and making sure everything was clean, and sometimes I would help on the tractor and lawn mower once I got older. I also have babysitting experience and do that as much as I can when I am home from college.

I also have spent many weeks in my last 4 summers in Guatemala doing service projects for the local community! That included installing stoves and installing and building water filters!

I love so many different board games and playing them with my friends some nights. I also love sports and played many in highschool including basketball, soccer, and softball I played all my life. I thrive in the outdoors and find myself gravitating towards my grandparents farm which is 3 hours away anytime I need a break from everything going on and being there really helps mentally as a good break to focus and grow as a person. I'm looking forward to pushing myself in their experience and truly growing as a person through whatever I do.
