Hi! My name is Harrison. I’m in my mid-twenties and grew up in California, USA. I studied at UCLA and have spent the past 4–5 years working in tech, most recently as a product and operations manager at a health tech startup.

I’m ethnically Taiwanese — both of my parents are from Taiwan — but I’ve never had the chance to live there long-term. One of my biggest motivations for joining Workaway is to immerse myself in Taiwanese culture and experience daily life from a local perspective. I’m especially excited to improve my Mandarin (currently very beginner level) and would love opportunities to practice speaking. English is my native language, and I’m happy to help with English conversation or tutoring in exchange.

What brings me happiness is learning from people who have different backgrounds and life experiences. I love stepping outside of my comfort zone, whether that’s through travel, cultural exchange, or trying something new and challenging. I’m especially motivated by meaningful connection — sharing meals, conversations, and daily routines together.

I come from a family with two younger brothers (one is 13 years younger than me), so I’m very comfortable helping care for or playing with kids. I’m patient, responsible, and used to contributing around the house — cooking, cleaning, organizing, and being proactive when help is needed.

In my free time, I enjoy staying active. I love outdoor sports like golf, volleyball, basketball, skiing, tennis, and running, and I regularly work out at the gym. I also enjoy creative work — especially photography and videography — and would be happy to help document projects or daily life if that’s useful.

Overall, I’m motivated by growth, cultural immersion, and building genuine relationships. I’m excited to contribute positively to your home or project while learning more about Taiwanese life and improving my language skills along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and have spent the past several years working in tech, where I regularly used tools like SQL and Excel for analysis and operations. Through my work experience, I’ve developed strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative and solve problems independently.

Creatively, I enjoy photography and videography. I’ve done travel and graduation photoshoots and have created short travel films, editing with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. If helpful, I’d be happy to assist with documenting projects, creating photos or videos, or helping with social media content.

I’m very active and physically capable. I regularly play sports (golf, volleyball, basketball, tennis, skiing, running) and work out consistently, so I’m comfortable helping with physical tasks — whether that’s cleaning, organizing, lifting, outdoor work, or farm tasks. While I don’t have professional construction experience, I’ve assembled and built furniture (including a DIY desk) and enjoy hands-on projects. I’m eager to learn more practical building and DIY skills.

As a native English speaker, I’m happy to help with English conversation practice or informal tutoring. I also have strong experience working with children. I have two younger brothers (one much younger than me) and have volunteered at youth camps where I facilitated games and learning activities for kids of various ages. I’m patient, responsible, and comfortable taking initiative when helping with children.

Overall, I bring a mix of analytical skills, creativity, physical capability, and a positive, teachable attitude. I’m adaptable, dependable, and always willing to learn new skills where needed.
