Having just graduated university, I'm unsure exactly what I want to do next but one thing's for sure - I want experiences! The best part about travelling is experiencing new things - trying new foods, meeting new people and learning about new cultures and I'm excited to broaden my horizons with Workaway. I love the great outdoors, sports and generally being active but equally as important is good food, which is made all the better with good company and good conversation. Whatever I try, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and I'm excited to see where I'll end up next:)

I am a qualified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher with a 120-hour qualification recently awarded. I have no experience teaching yet but I am hoping to use this as a source of income whilst I travel and would love to either assist and see how it's done or try my on my own with guidance. I speak school level German and would love to improve this but I am very open to learning other languages such as Spanish or Italian.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have recently been awarded my 120-hour TEFL certificate so I am now qualified to teach English as a foreign language as a native speaker. Although I have no experience yet I am very keen learn.

I have worked with children and adults of many ages. During my school years I was a Young Leader for 6-8 year olds in the Scouts and a non-commissioned officer in my school's cadet force for 15-16 year olds, where I assisted more senior staff and both created and led entertaining and educational activities e.g., craft nights or nature hikes for the Scouts or drills and overnight expeditions for the cadets. At university I was the publicity secretary for the lacrosse club, managing the social media accounts and promoting the club, and then the Captain of the women's team, teaching beginners and experienced players the game as well as organising matches and communicating between teams, the club and the university authorities.

In the summer of 2022, I worked for 2 months in a summer camp in Pennsylvania, USA, as a lacrosse coach for 11-14 year olds and as a general camp counsellor for 13-14 year old girls where I was responsible for the mental and physical wellbeing of those under my care, establishing day and night-time routines and accompanying and leading campers in activities.
Professionally, I have also been a waitress, a supermarket cashier, a bartender and a Planning Policy officer in my local council.

As an active individual I have also completed my Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards which I was awarded at Buckingham Palace, have been a qualified lacrosse umpire with England Lacrosse and gained my American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED qualification.

I love all kinds of animals and have experience working with dogs and horses. In my teens, I was an passionate horse rider and helped out at my local stables with horse care and stable management as well as assisting younger riders in lessons.

All these roles have given me the skills to become a confident leader and a strong team member enabling me to work well under pressure with good people skills of all ages. I am reliable, committed and responsible in everything I do and always give 100% effort, energy and enthusiasm.

I am a very active person who hates sitting still for too long! This means I've managed to try a lot of things in my life and though I may not be good at them I always have fun, especially with the sun shining:) My main sport has always been lacrosse, since the age of 11, which I carried on through school and university but I have also enjoyed horse riding, hiking, tennis and football. I also like to swim and loved trying paddle boarding and kayaking.

I am also a big reader and usually have a book on the go, my newest favourite is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, but I also love movies, especially action/adventure or comedies. I can watch anything Marvel over and over again.

My family and I are very close so I love to spend time with them or my friends, especially with good food and drink. I am very sociable, I love to laugh and generally have a good time and I can't wait to try all the new things the world has to offer.
