Hannah is currently living in Omaha, Nebraska and Erica is in Bologna, Italy. We are artists, have strong interests in ecology/spend time exploring in nature, and learning about different cultures.
Description
We are Hannah and Erica, two curious and proactive best friends from the Midwest USA! Our friendship is built on creativity (we are both artists) and a love of the outdoors. We both have BFA degrees in Studio Art with an emphasis on Ceramics/Pottery. Erica is currently working as jeweler's apprentice in Bologna, Italy, and Hannah is a weaver's studio assistant and gardener in Omaha, Nebraska USA. Our joys are being in nature, learning languages and new skills, and sharing in insightful conversations.
We are two fun and hardworking women with open hearts and inquisitive minds! We share a close bond that lets us navigate travel together with ease, and we are adaptable and low maintenance guests. Participating in a Workaway exchange appeals to our philosophy about travel—we believe in immersing ourselves to have an intimate experience with a place's people, culture and land. We are humble learners and are honored by the idea of being welcomed into a new place.

We are both working on learning Italian and Spanish, but we are interested in languages at large and open to trying to learn even more languages! We would like to learn some Turkish next.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
We both have college degrees in art with a focus on ceramics, and have experience maintaining and working in professional studios, installing artwork, selling our art, and teaching art workshops in pottery and jewelry.
Erica is a skilled cook. Hannah is skilled at outdoor labor and land stewardship. We are organized, timely and good communicators. We are quick learners and are eager to jump into new tasks. We value a beautiful home, so home care, cleaning and maintenance come naturally to us.
We have volunteer and work experience in childcare and gardening as well.

Specifically as artists, we are both passionate about traditional crafts and the passing down of traditional craft knowledge and skills, particularly in pottery and textiles. Erica loves cooking and learning about traditional foods/ingredients. Hannah is an arborist with knowledge of trees, and she helps with habitat restoration in the oak woods and prairies of Nebraska.
We are both interested in gardening, foraging and growing food. We love animals, especially kitty cats :) We love to hike, camp, and swim in natural bodies of water. We like to play cards, Erica can bring her Italian card game: Briscola!
