Description
Hi! My name is Gaia, I’m 19 years old and I’m a Psychology student at the University of Pavia, in Italy.
I’ve always wanted to explore the world, discover new places and, most importantly, meet people from different cultures and learn from them. I’m a curious, open-minded and cheerful person, and I really enjoy being around people and animals. I love animals and I have two dogs and two cats at home, so taking care of them is something I’m very used to and genuinely enjoy.
I’m joining Workaway because I want to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone and have a completely new experience. A trip I had planned was recently cancelled, and instead of seeing it only as a disappointment, I decided to use this unexpected free time as an opportunity to do something I’ve always wanted to try.
I’m not afraid of working hard and I’m happy to help with different kinds of tasks. I’d love to learn new skills, take on responsibilities and contribute to the everyday life of my host in any way I can.
Another important reason why I want to do this experience is to improve my English. I’m not very confident with my English at the moment, but I really want to get better, and I think living and communicating with people who speak it every day would be the best way to learn.
I’ve heard so many great things about Workaway, but I’ve never had the chance to try it before. So I’m really excited to take this first step, meet new people, experience a different way of life and hopefully come back home with new skills, friendships and memories.
I’m ready to get involved, learn, help and enjoy the experience! :) -

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have experience with animals and I really enjoy taking care of them. I have been riding horses for several years, which is something I love and would be happy to continue doing whenever possible. I also have experience with dogs, and in my free time I volunteer at a local animal shelter, where I take dogs for walks.
I have also worked, and I still occasionally work, in a bar in my hometown. This has taught me how to work with people, be responsible, organized and work well under pressure.
I have experience working with children too. I have helped at a summer camp, supporting activities and spending time with children. I really enjoy being around them and I’m always happy to get involved in creative and fun activities.
I’m a hardworking and adaptable person, and I’m always willing to learn new skills. I’m happy to help with animals, children, hospitality, outdoor activities or everyday tasks, and I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty! -
