Hey there! I'm Federico, currently based in New York City, but honestly, my heart's still in Latin America. I grew up in Nicaragua from the age of 4 to 16, running around in the countryside, living that hands-on life surrounded by nature and a strong sense of community. It was the kind of place where people knew your name and you earned your keep, and I’ve been craving that ever since. Although I went to college in small rural town in Upstate New York, it never quite matched the same feeling.
Over at my small college, I studied political science and Classics (Latin and ancient Greek); however, I’m all about getting my hands dirty and tackling real work. These days, I’m working for a large charity in New York—important work for sure, but I’m feeling the pull to get out from behind a desk. I want to swap the spreadsheets and city noise for something tangible, where I can see the results of my effort right in front of me.
I visited Chile in September and, wow, I was hooked. The landscapes, the people—it reminded me of what I’ve been missing. Now, I’m looking to reconnect with that kind of lifestyle in Latin America, whether it’s helping out on a farm, working in a hostel, or pitching in wherever a pair of willing hands can make a difference.
I’m not afraid to get up early, put in the effort, and learn along the way. I can lend a hand with physical work, gardening, language practice, or just keeping the place running smoothly. What I really want is to be useful, share some good times, and learn from the amazing people I'll meet. ¡Hola! Soy Federico, ahora vivo en Nueva York, pero sinceramente, mi corazón sigue en América Latina. Crecí en Nicaragua desde los 4 hasta los 16 años, correteando por el campo, viviendo una vida práctica rodeado de naturaleza y un fuerte sentido de comunidad. Era el tipo de lugar donde todos te conocían y uno se ganaba las cosas con esfuerzo, y he estado extrañando eso desde entonces. Incluso en la universidad, cuando vivía en un pueblo pequeño, no era lo mismo.
Durante mi tiempo en la universidad, estudié ciencias políticas y clásicos (latín y griego antiguo), aunque estos días anhelo ensuciarme las manos y enfrentarme al trabajo duro. Ahora mismo, trabajo en una gran organización benéfica en Nueva York, haciendo un trabajo importante, sin duda, pero siento el llamado de salir de la oficina. Quiero cambiar las planillas y el ruido de la ciudad por algo tangible, donde pueda ver los resultados de mi esfuerzo frente a mí.
Estuve de vacaciones en Chile en septiembre y me quedé enganchado. Los paisajes, la gente… me recordó todo lo que he estado extrañando. Ahora quiero reconectar con ese estilo de vida en América Latina, ya sea ayudando en una granja, trabajando en un hostal, o echando una mano donde sea que haga falta.
No me asusta madrugar, ponerle ganas y aprender en el camino. Puedo ayudar con trabajo físico, jardinería, práctica de idiomas, o simplemente echando una mano para que todo funcione. Lo que más quiero es ser útil, compartir buenos momentos y aprender de la gente increíble que conoceré. Si buscas a alguien sencillo, trabajador y con muchas ganas de conectar, ¡hagámoslo realidad!

I’m comfortable with physical work and enjoy tasks that let me stay active, whether it’s gardening, basic construction, or farm work. I’m fluent in Spanish and can help out with language practice or English tutoring. I’m also good at organizing and coordinating tasks, keeping things running smoothly, and adapting quickly to new situations.
Beyond the practical, I bring a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to learn on the fly. Whether it's fixing things, coming up with creative solutions, or just jumping in to help wherever needed, I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves and give it my all. Plus, I’m great with people—I enjoy being social and can easily connect with guests, locals, or anyone I’m working with.
Me siento cómodo con el trabajo físico y disfruto de las tareas que me mantienen activo, ya sea jardinería, construcción básica o trabajo en la granja. Hablo español fluido y puedo ayudar con la práctica del idioma o dar clases de inglés. También soy bueno organizando y coordinando tareas, manteniendo las cosas en orden y adaptándome rápidamente a nuevas situaciones.
Más allá de lo práctico, tengo una mentalidad orientada a resolver problemas y estoy dispuesto a aprender sobre la marcha. Ya sea arreglando cosas, ideando soluciones creativas o simplemente ayudando en lo que haga falta, siempre estoy listo para poner manos a la obra y dar lo mejor de mí. Además, me llevo bien con la gente—me gusta socializar y conecto fácilmente con huéspedes, locales o cualquier persona con la que esté trabajando.
