Hi there! We are Ben and Emma, both 23 years old, and are currently travelling in France together !!

I'm Ben and I was born and raised in New Zealand and this is my first major trip overseas! I studied Music at University while working in Hospitality and Retail and juggling a few bands on top. I play Guitar and Bass and love to produce music for others and my own band. Now I'm travelling with my Girlfriend in her home country of France to meet her friends and family and experience this amazing country and its culture!

Bonjour ! I'm Emma and I was born in Colmar and spent most of my childhood in Bayonne. My family and I moved to New Zealand in 2010 and stayed there for 8 years. We moved back to France in 2018 where I finished High School and pursued my education in Art and Animation. Last year I decided to come back to New Zealand for a gap year and spent that time travelling and reconnecting with people and the country. Now I've decided to drag my boyfriend here so he can get to taste real cheese !

While in New Zealand we've managed to explore the best beaches of the North Island and go on a 2-week van trip around the South Island. So far on our French quest we have visited the beautiful region of Alsace, spent a week in Paris, and have eaten our 4th gateau basque in Bayonne.

We both share a love for cinema and art ! If we aren't out in the real world, we are most definitely watching movies and writing Letterboxd reviews.

We are looking to meet and connect with new people while working and contributing to an environment that will enrich our trip and teach us new valuable skills. This is why we think Workaway is the perfect option for us !

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are open-minded, sociable, considerate, and easy-going people. With a great work ethic, we are determined to learn new skills and get any job done. We work well together and within a team. We both have a passion for art, Ben with music and Emma with illustration/animation, and bring our creativity to any project or task we are a part of!

Emma is fluent in both French and English, and Ben is fluent in English with an intermediate level in French.

We both love animals! (Emma can give you random animal facts whenever you want as well!)
Ben has owned and cared for cats his whole life and currently has a cat back in New Zealand that he misses everyday (her name is Ripley and she has a bald belly). Emma has a passion for weird quirky animals and bird watching, she also lived with and took care of her dad's dog while in New Zealand.

We both have experience working in Hospitality. Ben worked for a hospitality agency as a waiter and barman in many different locations, then worked in a sports bar for 3 years and a Liquor Store for 2.5 years. Emma worked during her university breaks at several restaurants and bars in France and then worked in a Cafe in New Zealand.

We are both versatile and hardworking people and take our responsibilities seriously. We also love to have a good time and enjoy having fun with the people around us.

We love exploring and appreciating nature so any recommendations nearby are always wanted !
Some of our hobbies include hiking, weightlifting/exercise, swimming, reading, board games, MOVIES and art and music of course.
Ben's main instrument is guitar but he can also play bass, trumpet, ukulele, and a bit of piano, and he loves to play and jam with anyone.
Emma loves to draw and paint. She enjoys sharing her art with others and meeting other fellow artists.
