Hi y'all! I'm Fabio!

I am a 27 year old guy and the only clear purpose that I have for the moment is that I want to travel and see the world.

For two years I lived in a smal town in Connecticut, US , teaching Spanish at a university. Although I love teaching, I realized that a sedentarian and consumer lifestyle is not for me right now, so I left the academia, took my backpack and decided to start a nomadic lifestyle and do solo travelling (I'd like to say "travel the world" but the world is too big so I prefer doing small steps!). I try to make a living by combining a few Spanish online lessons and different jobs that I find on the way.

I am a very curious person and I like discovering the different ways in which humans express their ideas and feelings, and also knowing about the way people live in different parts of the world. I am also a very active person and I like combining physical work and movement with intelectual work during my life. I am used to living in cities but I have also lived in natural environments and it would be great to experience that again.
Regarding my hobbies, I like languages, history, literature, cinema, paints, yoga, nature, soccer, etc. Recently, I also started to get very interested into the buddhist philosophy; I am amazed about some of its principles and I would like to try and some of them to my life.
I'd like to find people who I can practice meditation in a nice environment. Apart from that, I also feel that minimalism makes my life better so I try to live in a minimalist way.

I feel like Workaway is such a great way for solo travelling so we can exchange resources (work, food, bed, ideas, etc.) and also share company with other people and animals, so we can enjoy and learn from each other. For the lifestyle that I am approaching right now, is the perfect tool.

Soy un chaval de 27 años y mi único propósito claro en la vida por el momento de viajar y ver el mundo.
Durante dos años he vivido en un pequeño pueblo de Connecticut, EEUU, enseñando español en una universidad. Aunque me encanta enseñar, me di cuenta de que un estilo de vida sedentario y consumista no va conmigo, así que dejé la academia, cogí mi mochila y decidí empezar un estilo de vida nómada y así viajar solo por el mundo. Intento ganarme la vida combinando clases de español online con trabajillos que voy enganchando por el camino.

Soy una persona muy curiosa y me gusta aprender sobre cómo el ser humano se expresa a través del arte, o sobre cómo la gente vive en diferentes partes del mundo. Soy algo inquieto así que me gusta estar en movimiento y hacer un poco de trabajo físico, y combinarlo con algo de trabajo intelectual en mi día a día. He vivido mayormente en ciudades pero también he estado en ambientes más naturales y me gustaría volver a probar a vivir en sitios donde pueda sentirme conectado con la naturaleza. Respecto a mis hobbies, me gustan los idiomas, la historia, la literatura, el cine, la pintura, el yoga, la naturaleza, el fútbol, etc. Recientemente he empezado a interesarme por la filosofía budista: me flipan algunos de sus principios y me gustaría probar a aplicar algunos a mi vida. Sería genial encontrar gente con la que poder practicar meditación en un ambiente agradable. Aparte de eso, también siento que el minimalismo me hace la vida más fácil e intento vivir acorde.

Una de las mejores partes de mis viajes es la gente que conozco por el camino y las cosas que aprendemos del otro cuando interactuamos. Workaway es una manera perfecta para intercambiar recursos (trabajo, comida, alojamiento, ideas) y además compartir tiempo y espacio con otras personas (y animales!).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- Hostels: experience in reception, bar and cleaning in different hostels in Spain and Germany.

- Farms: Experience working in fields and helping with animals (milking cows, goats, feeding chickens, etc.) in an ecofriendly and self sufficient farm in Germany.

- Children: I worked in a volunteer project teaching English and other subjects to children in social exclusion situations in Cuzco, Perú.

- Languages: I fluently speak three languages and I think my best skill is communication with people. I am also a certified Spanish teacher with teaching experience in a university in the United States so I would say that is my best professional skill.

However, I am open to try different jobs and looking forward to learning new things!

- Hostales: experiencia en recepción, bar y limpieza en hostales de España y Alemania.

- Granjas: experiencia de trabajo en el campo con los cultivos y ayudando con los animales (ordeñando vacas y cabras, alimentando pollos, limpiando el terreno, etc.) en una granja ecológica y autosuficiente de Alemania.

- Niños: trabajé en un voluntariado enseñando inglés y otras materias a niños en situación de exclusión social en Cuzco, Perú.

- Idiomas: hablo fluidamente tres idiomas y creo que mi mayor virtud en cuanto a lo laboral es la comunicación con la gente. También soy profesor de español con títulos y experiencia en una universidad de Estados Unidos, así que diría que es en lo que mejor estoy preparado profesionalmente.

No obstante, estoy abierto a probar otros trabajos y con muchas ganas de aprender cosas nuevas!

I am a digital nomad: I currently work as a Spanish teacher online, and that is what I live from. I just teach a few lessons a week and I travel with my laptop but I need Wi-fi for that.

Soy nómada digital: actualmente trabajo de profesor de españo online y vivo de ello. Doy pocas clases a la semana y viajo con mi portátil pero necesito Wi-Fi para poder hacerlo.
