Hi I’m Erin I'm 26 years old and currently living in Norway (I have an irish passport) I'm interested in both paid working positions, volunteer roles and farmstays ☺️

Currently -
Studying at a Folkehøgskule on the circus line with horse riding as an elective subject. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for personal growth allowing me to nurture my interests and passions in idyllic surroundings. I'm excited to see more of Norway and learn and immerse myself in the culture


Past Job -
A support worker for adults with learning disabilities in a residential home. although demanding and challenging at times, I found it extremely rewarding, and learnt lessons of patience and understanding in this role. I also learned the importance of nonverbal communication methods and taking time to make sure people are heard we rush far too often In this world .

Why Travel now ?
Up until recently I spent 10 years being a carer for my Nan until she sadly passed away this April 23
I loved my Nan deeply , she was my best friend and not your stereotypical Nan. I know she'd like to see me happy and following my dreams, and that is why I have joined Workaway.

I've always loved travel , meeting new people and wish to experience as much of the world as possible. I studied history and religious studies at university and have a great appreciation for just how vast the world is and how much history it holds.

My personality -
I'm a happy , enthusiastic , energetic individual, outgoing, I work well with others but am also self motivated and able to work well on my own.

Interests -
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and helping others.
The theatre is a big love of mine and I've seen many shows with my favourite musical being - fiddler on the roof or Les Miserables
Other hobbies include reading , going , yoga, going to the gym and Aerial arts ! I may be small but I’m strong and not afraid of hard work ☺️

I also love music, I have been attempting to teach myself tin whistle for years though I unfortunately did not inherit my family's musical ear or sense of timing though.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a lot of experience looking after young people and children. During my school years I volunteered at my local church youth group as a leader. After school I worked for NCS (national citizenship service) as a youth leader over the summer. This involved me supporting young people on outdoor activities, helping them prepare for university life ; where they spent a week staying In university accommodation learning to budget and cook for themselves then finally leading them in a week of organising a social action project for their local area.

Last year I started aerial classes and I now currently assist teaching a children’s aerial and gymnastics class every week. I really enjoy teaching, and love watching the children I teach grow in confidence each week.

I'm a keen cook, and am forever inviting family and friends over for food , though sometimes they just invite themselves over and tell me I'm cooking 😂

I've also worked as a security guard , bartender in a b&b , cinema host and in fast food.

I’m always willing to try new things, I'm a hard worker , motivated and working in care means im used to 15 hour shifts . Everything I do I put 100% effort into. I like being busy and most importantly I appreciate sharing knowledge and learning from others.
