Hi! My name is Emily, and I am so excited to connect with hosts and other Workawayers.

I'm taking some time to truly do what's important to me - travel, live collectively, experience new cultures, meet new people, and support each other in life.

I've worked in the corporate world in Organizational Development, HR, & Talent Acquisition until November 2022, and am using this opportunity to start a gap/travel time in life.

I grew up on a farm and worked in several public gardens and ranches during the summers throughout college. I majored in Biology, and for several years co-owned a plant nursery with my dad (One day I hope to reopen!). I am well versed in the manual labor required to run a farm, nursery, plot of land, large garden, etc. I took care of chickens, cows, horses, dogs, and cats on the farm.

I'm passionate about yoga, meditation, and breathwork as tools to heal and find clarity in life. I will be finishing teacher certifications in those 3 areas, as well as (ethical) coaching, in May 2023. I'm not an adrenaline-junkie traveler, but I am always up for adventures! Waterfalls, hiking, swimming, dance, music, love it all.

I am a hard worker and meticulous cleaner/organizer and would love to help you in lodges, hostels, and homes.

I can't wait to have new work experiences and meet new people. I am based in Mississippi but have lived in California and Seattle for several years.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've grown up on a working farm and have experience in animal care (cows, horses, chickens, catfish, dogs/cats), gardening, and crop care. My dad owned a plant nursery and was a landscape designer, so I worked very closely with him for most of my life. I ran the plant nursery on my own for a year as well. I worked in a very curated, beautiful public garden during my summers in college, as well as a full year after my master's program. I love feng shui and have always helped family and friends out in that area as well (decluttering, cleaning, etc). I've painted walls and houses. I have experience managing a team, and have worked in corporations for 10 years too. I love cooking, am building my own website, and have a bit of social media marketing experience as well.

I'm very meticulous in whatever tasks are handed to me - no matter how daunting, I will get the job done!

I love playing cards and boardgames, but also enjoy alone time! I am looking to deepen my meditation/yoga practices. I also work in a remote role doing contract recruiting when I can (This is commission-only and will not get in the way of any Workaway).
