Hello! We are Lauren (26) and Jon (33). We met in Tasmania a couple of years ago and are now travelling together - currently in the UK!
We are interested in learning all about organic farming and working with the land, foraging / herbalism / permaculture / natural building and DIY! Our dream is to one day have land on which we can utilise all that we have learnt…
(Lauren) I’m from the UK and have two degrees in Geography and also Environmental Change and International Development. My focus was mostly understanding our different human relationships with the natural world, whether shaped by structures of capitalism, ‘modernisation’, the media, etc. And in doing so went on my own personal journey to reconnect to myself as being part of nature and the whole, which drew me towards learning more about living with the land and living in community, foraging and folklore, and working with the seasonal cycles.
(Jon) I’m from Australia, I studied mathematics and engineering and spent many years working as a software developer before having sort of a spiritual awakening and realising I needed to live differently. Then I travelled Australia for a few years and on my travels I met Lauren and we fell in love and she invited me over to visit the UK. I love to sing and play guitar and I’m passionate about exploring the world and living closer to nature.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have plenty of housekeeping / hospitality experience in all areas (cleaning, cooking, serving, reception). I've also worked at a couple of farms harvesting fruits and veggies. I am learning more and more about plants and foraging and how to use them.
At university I studied geography and then also environmental change and international development so I have knowledge and experience in community-led environmental/social/cultural work as well as relationships with nature and place.
I have dabbled in many creative hobbies over the years, I love DIY, upcycling, dressmaking, hoop/flow, and crocheting, practicing guitar, all of which uplift me and energise me in different ways.
