Description

Hello and Namaste! I am Diya and I live and work in the northern part of India, The Himalayas.
For the past few years, I had been traveling in the region to be in different spaces and engage with different communities and be of service. And for more or less two years, I had stayed put in one village that became my home and started working in the region with an NGO for waste management and awareness and continue to do so.

My journeys have mostly been with myself. Be it while studying journalism, finding photography and writing as my mediums for self expression. And travel revealed to me beautiful people that felt closer to being my chosen family. Presently, I want to listen more intently to my itchy feet, that long to visit places around the world and in my country, India with an intention. Showing up on workaway was one way in the process to find people and places working in the areas and with communities that I want be a part of and share skills and joy together.

It makes me really happy to work outside. Around nature, in community spaces, on land, around conscious food and cafes. With books, music, in artistic and culturally rich spaces, on sustainability, with the people and for the people.
