Welcome to my Workaway profile! Whether you’re a host or a fellow volunteer, let me tell you a bit about myself.

I am Darko, Italian with a Slavic first name that means "gift" as "He who brings joy and blessings to the family and community". My last name, "Compagnoni", is the Italian for "A jovial person, who loves company and is pleasant to be with". I strive to live up to my name in every way.

I love connecting with people, creating shared memories, and building lifelong friendships. I thrive in collaborative environments where integrity and teamwork help bring ideas to life.

I’m passionate about creating wellness and comfort wherever I go. At the same time, I know the value of stepping out of my comfort zone. When I stay in one place for too long, I feel stagnant, which is why I’m back on Workaway!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

HOSPITALITY:
From 2017 to 2020, I worked in housekeeping, cleaning, and front-desk roles at hostels and B&Bs. In my most recent Workaway, I managed a small crew of volunteers, ensuring smooth operations.

COOKING:
I have experience cooking for groups of 10-15 people, adapting to seasonal ingredients and dietary needs. Growing up in Italy, my love for food and conviviality runs deep – and don’t worry, I won’t judge if you like pineapple on pizza! I’m also happy to share or learn cooking techniques.

GARDENING:
Between 2022 and 2023, I lived in a small community where we worked together to maintain a large garden. My tasks included weeding, mowing, digging, planting seeds, and even building a chicken shed.

HELP WITH COMPUTERS/INTERNET:
With years of office experience, I’m proficient in customer care, marketing, data analysis, and analytics engineering. I’m skilled at using computers for tasks like managing data, running reports, and handling communication tools. I enjoy bringing my tech skills to problem-solving and supporting operations efficiently.

OTHER:
I have some hands-on experience with plumbing and painting, and I’m always eager to learn more about DIY projects.
