Hi!
I am quite new here on Woraway (joined in November 2023).
A Fine Art and Psychology graduate.
I have been volunteering with various NGOs in Scotland and England, having worked with clients with substance misuse, and other mental health difficulties, as a family supporter, a ward helper with the elderly, a telephone befriender, and so on. I believe those skills with continuous professional development are valuable as well as those experiences to put things into perspective.
I like meeting new people, and listening to their life stories, especially when travelling. For example, a different way of lifestyle I learnt from the kind Amish people when I was travelling on cross-country trains. I like to immerse myself in cultures, as well as to have that time alone, to reflect on past experiences as anticipate temporal landmarks to the future. I have an arts background, then decided to take a conversion course in Psychology. I have been working as a helping professional with children and adults since, plus counselling training. And I find it rewarding to see the positive changes in other people.

I am open to learning new languages at a daily conversational level to get to know the local people and culture. I also have a CELTA qualification, which enables me to teach language formally, with my years of experience working with children and adults. I believe the skills I've gained are transferable in many areas. I would love to exchange languages in speaking or writing. I've been learning French (to intermediate level), but can't seem to be remembering or speaking confidently!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Hands-on in sculpture, throwing wheels, and painting (on the walls too), or anything in the arts! I'm a fast learner. Worked in various areas - healthcare, customer services as in general assistant, waitressing, interior design studio assistant, administrative (ad-hoc), art gallery intern, and receptionist roles, childcare (in a nursery, mentoring, after-school nannying in the home setting as well as after-school clubs in coordinating creative activities). I had experience living with cats and dogs. I have a CELTA Cambridge English Teaching qualification, counselling skills certificate, and registered on PVG in Scotland and DBS in English to work with vulnerable groups of people.
