Salut!

I'm a Mexican-American from Los Angeles, looking to spend more time outdoors.

This is my third time on Workaway, and I hope to sustain my travels for a while. My first two experiences were in Mexico running a hostel, and later volunteering on a coffee farm in San Luis Potosí with Nahuas. Both lasted for a month or two, as I prefer longer stays to get properly oriented. I've also volunteered on farms in France and the US through WWOOF, which were just as rewarding.

I like being in a trusted team with a shared goal :)

I'm very interested in the humanities, if my art career doesn't take off then I would like to teach. Otherwise, I love to be spontaneous; living with the land. I like to cook. I appreciate the humor, philosophy, literature, music, dancing & cinematography. Love learning, always discovering new books. I hope to publish someday, or direct short films.

I really love being surrounded by passionate, funny, easy-natured people. I'm sociable and energetic (running, hiking, yoga, sports, dance). And I'm accustomed to communal living, and excited to cooperate and see what I can add to a place.

Me interesan los idiomas español, frances, ingles. Estoy tratando de pulir mi español, y llegar a ser conversacional en francés. Mi abuela era mexicana y tengo familiares en méxico pero hoy en día no hablo tanto en español, desafortunadamente. Pero cuando encuentro un latino siento en casa. I'd be thrilled to learn other languages too, a good teacher permitting.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My recent work experience has been cooking or baking for restaurants and cafes.

I am good at cleaning and maintenance, being organized.

I have experience on farms, working with animals, and have done some construction work.

I've worked as a substitute teacher in public schools and in the IT department. I get along very easily with kids.

Can provide basic computer support.

Very passionate about reading, writing, videography, and the arts in general. I can be an editor in English or a videographer.

I'm meticulous, observant, quick to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Most importantly, self-driven.

I studied literature and migration policies in university. In my free time I read a lot and write. Besides reading and writing, I love outdoor activities, meditation, dance, and le ciné.

I want to learn the drums and piano some more, but I can mess around on them. If you are doing theatre, dance, or improv where can I sign up? I like performances :) Even just reading aloud to each other is priceless.

Last year I practiced and worked in the kitchen of a Soto Buddhist temple in San Francisco. Very rewarding, I really appreciate what Buddhists and Eastern traditions have to offer. I readily welcome, and greatly respect, religious belief and thought. Crecí en una escuela católica.
