Description
Hello, my name is Ciara and I am currently travelling South America (just Peru and Colombia for 3 months) 😊
I studied Cell Biology with Spanish at the University of Manchester, and now work in the UK as a medical editor, correcting English language in medical documents. I have some experience teaching English to Spanish children in the UK and I absolutely loved it - I enjoyed bonding with the cheeky kids and being able to help them with their English and pass their exams. I have always wanted to do this again, and have always wanted to learn more about South American culture, and so I think a workaway position would be amazing.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am a friendly and enthusiastic person, always ready to have a laugh and get to know new people 😊 I also have excellent English language skills, and have been told that I am a very clear communicator, whether that is verbal or written communication. I enjoy spending time with different types of people, and am very comfortable with children (as I grew up in a very big family!). I would love the opportunity to practise my Spanish, as I haven’t spoken it much since I lived in Spain for a year in 2017. I am interested in all different cultures and am very happy to get involved in lots of different types of activities!

I have been in Peru for the past few weeks hiking and camping and have really loved it. I would enjoy being able to continue walking/swimming in nature at my workaway and would also love the opportunity to try some more exciting things such as kayaking, zip lines etc. I also love history and museums, and learning about new places.
I thought that I would be happy just being a tourist for 3 months by myself, but I’ve realised that actually I like having a community around me, and so I would love instead to immerse myself in some work and surround myself with a family away from home - to give my travelling some purpose!
