I am up for doing pretty much anything, I'm very spontaneous and always wanting to try new things, whether that is new food, activities and meeting people.

Description

Hi my name is Charles, but I am known as Charlie.
From United Kingdom and my hometown is Brighton, in the south-east coast of England.

Helping other people makes me happy whether that is doing a random act of kindness to a complete stranger, if I help at least one person it makes me feel amazing that I have made a good contribution to the world.

I am 22 years old and have a passion for visiting places that I have never been to before.
I have visited 30 countries all-together with 29 of those being in Europe.

In the summer of 2022, when I was 20 years old, I decided to do my first solo-travel adventure and went of to eastern Europe, to the countries of: Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Slovenia. This was one of the best choices of my life by going to places that I could never of imagined myself going to being a young by from England. Since that trip I completed even more countries including: North Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania.

I like to live a life where I feel relaxed and at ease with what is going on around me. Some things that I have been doing to feel this way include meditation practice daily which I have been doing for over a year. Overall, self-improvement is a big part of my life and has changed who I am and what I prioritise.

A hobby that I enjoy doing is playing chess, particularly online and have played it since I was a little boy, where I have gone on to win tournaments in my school years.
I like reading self-improvement books to further develop myself as a person.

I am a comfortable person to be around that always wants to hear other people's stories from their travelling experiences. I found out about Workaway from my mother telling me about a story of a person she knows, so I check it out and was stunned. I can't wait to experience new cultures and get to know new people from all corners of the world and offer my help.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have skills in photography, videography which I have learnt from my studies at university. With my main skills in using a video camera and editing software's to create engaging content for viewers. During last year, I worked in the media team of an English football club where I would film their matches and make highlight videos from the games and put it out onto their social media platforms.

I am good at cooking. When I am cooking for myself I like to keep it simple and go for a good old classic of chicken, rice and broccoli which aligns perfectly with my health and fitness plan and also makes me feel good inside of me when I east healthy and nutritious food. However, if I am cooking for a big gathering, my favourite cuisine to make would be either a lasagne or macaroni cheese, I do love Italian food it is my favourite food.

Customer service is something that I have a lot of experience in through working in hospitality, in particular pubs which are a big part of the British and Irish culture which has made me communicate with people very well in person. Also, it has made me build new friendships as putting yourself out there is the best thing possible as it opens out countless opportunities.

During the COVID 19 pandemic, I wanted to help out the National Health Service of the United Kingdom by offering my services in the vaccine programme. I fully believe that if you are a young person looking to get a job, then volunteering if the best way forward to begin with as it shows people that you are willing to work for the good of other people and it truly helped me in securing jobs in the past.

I speak fluent English and a fairly good level of German and Spanish. Spanish has been solely down to me wanting to learn it whilst German I have learnt a lot through my family who know a bit of the language.
