Hello y'all, I'm Carson.
After focusing hard on my studies in college and then working for a few years, I'm taking a break to solo travel the world. I love the uncertainty and excitement that every day brings, and I believe that exposure to new experiences is so important along the journey to becoming who you are.
I love meeting new people and picking their brain about things I don't yet understand. When it comes to learning, I'm a die-hard Wikipedia fan. I'm also a rock climbing addict of 7 years, but I'm now in recovery and exploring new things such as scuba diving, playing the guitar, etc. I'm into cooking (Indian food especially), Latin dance, and a large variety of outdoor activities.
I'm volunteering while traveling because I want to have meaningful experiences that will shape my life. Also, I love Spanish and I want to continue learning through immersion. Because finding new ways to communicate with others is what excites me the most.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
- I speak Spanish conversationally, having learnt in the past and recently again during 6 amazing weeks in an intensive immersion program in Guatemala.
- I'm a skilled software developer with 3 years of work experience and a B.S. in Computer Science.
- I have lots of experience as a mechanic-- I have repaired anything from cars and trucks to diesel engines and motorcycles.
- I have built solar panel/battery/power distribution setups, and understand the principles behind them.
- I'm comfortable with small carpentry projects.
- I'm a hobbyist-level chef and can cook most anything. Though let's not talk about the time I fired a baked-bean pizza...
- I'm an intermediate salsa + bachata dancer, I would love to teach someday.
- I'm good at tying knots. I love knots.
- I can drive stick (manual).
