Description

I'm Carla, currently an International Nature Conservation student, soon to be graduate, in New Zealand. Following a semester at a uni in New Zealand, I want to learn more about the country and cultures present here. I love all things outdoors, especially hiking! During the mid-semester break I was lucky enough to do the Mueller and Angelus Hut hikes, which have some of the most stunning views I've experienced in my life. You'll also often find me looking under rocks trying to find cool wildlife and taking pictures of amazing landscapes or the newest cool mushroom I've discovered.

I'm originally from Berlin, but have lived in various parts of the world since graduating high school (e.g., UK, Laos, France and Switzerland). Apart from living in other countries, I immensely enjoy travelling and immersing myself in new experiences. I enjoy learning new languages and am currently learning Spanish and French.

I've previously wwoofed in France and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I not only improved my language skills, but made friends for life during that time. Here I'm looking for a workaway which will be equally as fun!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Hospitality: I have all-round hospitality skills. I've worked in bars and restaurants for the past ten years. During that time I developed bartending, waitressing, barista and managerial skills in various roles. I was a Duty Manager at a theatre and Hospitality Manager at an Elephant Conservation Centre.

Conservation: At the end of June I will graduate with a Masters in International Nature Conservation. I have gained various fieldwork and theoretical skills throughout my studies and internships and am more than happy to share and apply these skills.

Animal care: I have previous experience pet-sitting dogs, cats and fish. I also have the skills to take care of horses, as I grew up horseriding and often took care of a herd of 12 horses in the absence of the riding instructor (when she was on holiday).

I love games nights and even have a small selection or card games with me (and bananagrams). I'm an avid theatre-goer when the opportunity arises. My biggest passion is live music and I've worked in a concert venue before.
