Description

Hi! My name is Bri and I am on a journey to learn more about the world through travelling. I enjoy immersing myself in cultures, so I taught English for 15 months in South Korea and spent 1 year working on a boat in New Zealand. I am now backpacking throughout South America for the next 6 months and my hope is to significantly better my language skills.

I am a very adventurous and outdoorsy person, so each place I go, I am looking for something to get me out of my comfort zone. I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and surfing.

I am hoping to have workaway experiences that allow me to connect with locals, while also giving back to the community. Whether it is teaching English, constructing buildings, or even gardening, I am open to trying most things!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I genuinely enjoy learning new things, so I have worked in a variety of fields.

Most recently, I was a Team Leader and Nature Guide on an overnight cruise boat in a National park in New Zealand. I studied the environment of the area, interacted with customers, gave a daily presentation, and led a team of 5. I acquired practical skills like kayak guiding, driving zodiac boats, barista work, and waitressing.

Before New Zealand, I was an English teacher in South Korea. I taught ages 6-14. I taught reading, writing, listening and speaking. My goal as a teacher is always to make my lessons fun so that the students enjoy learning.

I also worked in ticket sales in the United States for 3 months and in operations at a software company.

Overall, I am a quick-learner, hardworking, and excellent at communication.

When I’m not outdoors, I love reading, particularly fiction and memoirs. I also like playing games, like Settlers of Catan and watching movies.

Something I’d like to get better at is cooking, so I enjoy doing so with friends.
