Hi, my name is John and I'm 37, originally from New York City but now living in Philadelphia. I graduated from a Maritime school and have been to a few places by ship. I'm a volunteer English teacher and tutor in my local community for the past several years. I've also volunteered in the past at a local horse stable, and in gardening/light farming. I've also volunteered on sailboat races and liveaboards. I enjoy playing music, including flute, drums, and guitar, as well as hiking, horse-back riding, bicycles, and dance. I'm also an avid Couchsurfer.

I am hoping to find a good place/school where I can help teaching English for a short period (1-2 weeks) while befriending locals, learning the local language, and experience the culture. It is a short time, but it is all the vacation I can afford to take from my full-time job.

I also would like to help with eco projects, permaculture, gardening, farming, stables, photography, tourism, and anything having to do with the water.

I taught English in Chile on a workaway a few years ago and would be interested in doing teaching again, or in exchange for another language, Spanish or French. If anyone wants to learn Romanian I can certainly help though this is not a popular language, more for having fun!
