Hello! My name is Anna, I am 19 years old and I come from a little town in Tuscany, Italy, called Montalcino. I spent there most of my life up until two years ago when I moved to Armenia to study at UWC Dilijan, an international boarding school that cultivates values of diversity, peace and sustainability. Here, together with getting to know the multiple fascinating sides of Armenian culture I also had the opportunity to get to know people from all over the world. Facing these new realities made me want to see even more of the world, and how I fit in it, which is one of the reasons why I now decided to take a gap year. During this time I am planning to travel around South and Central America in order to learn Spanish, get to know new people, new cultures and expand my horizons to new corners of the world.

I am a very sociable and active person. Late night conversations and spontaneous decisions on fun activities bring me a lot of joy. Some of my biggest passions are horse riding, which I have being practicing since the age of three; cooking, both Italian and other cuisines; and art, a discovery that I made in Armenia thanks to a Visual Arts course, where I had the chance to experiment with photography and other art-making forms, which I hope to keep pursing. I also really enjoy hiking, taking care of all types of animals, learning and teaching languages, music (my favourite genres are rock and afrobeats), and literature, both reading and writing.

During my gap year I am hoping to meet people who share with me some of these passions or who simply have the same curiosity towards the world as I have. I am also welcoming of any new and different interests to keep learning and to widen my knowledge to new fields.

I would like to teach either English or Italian (or both), as they are two languages I love and speak fluently. I am now interested in learning Spanish and (hopefully) become fluent in this beautiful language as well.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I believe one of my strongest skills to be teaching other people, as I am quite a patient person. I have experience in teaching horse riding basics to children and I was also a Biology tutor. I would now love to try teaching languages, either Italian or English, as I am very passionate of both.
I am also a good cook (especially for vegetarian dishes) and I enjoy making food for others. I have recently been to Spain and made everyone fall in love with pasta!
I also grew up in the countryside and enjoy different aspects of it such as growing plants and vegetables as well as taking care of animals.
Studying Visual Arts for two years also gave me some skills in this field, particularly when it comes to curating artistic spaces, as I had to curate a final exhibition as part of my curriculum, something that I genuinely enjoyed.
Recently I have also travelled a little bit around Georgia, Italy, France, Spain and Morocco and discovered a passion for organising trips and itineraries around different cities in order to make the most out of the territory one is in.

Some more random things that I enjoy are swimming, both in a swimming pool and in the sea, playing card games, as I come from a family where card games are sacred, and going out for a nice party, a drink or a simple walk on a weekend night.
