I have a motto in my life that goes :
1) I am proud of myself
2) I want to spread kindness around me
3) I want to make the world a better place to live
It is not finished nor perfect, it has time to evolve since I only am 18. But it helps me refocus on the things that matter.
And with that I will tell you a bit more about myself.
My name is Amélie and I am 18 years old. I just finished highschool and I was on my way to go to university until I realised I had no idea what I wanted to study or do with my life. I decided to take a gap year. And this how I discovered volunteering.
I have always been the type of person who likes helping. I grew up being the big sister of two brothers, I took care of them like sibling do, with my friends too I was always considered as the mom in the group. I have it in me, this urge of helping of wanting to do good for the others and it is in helping them that I help myself too.
Volunteering is a perfect match for my personality, I love it, because it brings me hope to meet so many people that wants to help. And I strongly believe that those are the small changes that matter.
I believe that I am a kind person with a positive attitude toward life, I know there is a lot to discover and to learn, I am ready for this.
My hobbies:
I am a reading addict, I cannot get enough of it. Whenever I have time (or not) I read. To entertain myself, to learn, to escape, and for every reason I could find. I love to bake, especially when chocolate is involved which is almost everytime. I have a fascination for documentaries in general : nature & animal, coldcase, space, mathematics, celebrity gossip, anticapitalism, philosophy & human psychology, etc.
When it is cold and rainy outside you will probably find me reading near a candle with a hot tea and some calm music, waiting for a cake baking in the oven.

As much as I love staying calm, sometimes I need a release, I need to move so I am currently back on running little distance, when I am at home I swim at leats once a week. And during the winter you can find me skiing or iceskating.

I am really good with children, I did a lot of babysitting.
I love animals, especially dogs, taking care of them.
I have an ease to learn ( and teach ) languages.
I develop garden skills during my previous volunteering such as, cutting trees and branches, mowing, raking.
I learned how to build a box with pallets from the street in Rome.
I like to tidy up, and clean space.
I can bake sweet dessert.
With my best friend we organize the best party, with the decorations and food.
