Description

Hi! I’m Alejandra, but I usually go by Ale 😊 I’m from Texas and I’ve been lucky enough to travel through parts of the U.S. and Europe. I joined Workaway because I’d love the opportunity to meet new people, explore new places, and learn about different cultures and traditions through real day-to-day experiences.

I have experience working with young children and teenagers, as I’ve worked in a public school for the past three years. I also recently completed a 4-week volunteer teaching experience with Angloville, where I helped international participants practice their English through conversation-based activities. These experiences helped me become more confident working with different age groups and backgrounds, staying adaptable in new environments, and supporting others in a fun and encouraging way.

I’m bilingual (English and Spanish) and I’m currently learning Italian. I also have a 120-hour TEFL certification, and I’d be more than happy to help with practicing either English or Spanish through tutoring or casual conversation.

I enjoy DIY projects and hands-on activities, and I have basic skills in a few practical areas, including arc welding and basic woodworking. I’m always excited to learn new things and improve along the way.

My work experience includes cashiering, customer service, operating a forklift, co-hosting and cleaning an Airbnb, teaching 9th–12th grade mathematics, and being a substitute teacher for all grade levels. I also have experience supporting a school meal program by planning menus, preparing food, and maintaining daily meal production records and documentation. I’m responsible, adaptable, and comfortable stepping in wherever help is needed.

I also have volunteer experience doing fundraisers for my local Catholic church and local high school.

Lastly, I would like to learn more about content creation and budget travel, and I’d be more than happy to photograph or video anything for you as a way to help out while improving my skills too. I genuinely believe every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow, and I’m excited to connect and contribute in a positive way!
