Hi! I am Ali, 23 year old and from Leipzig, Germany. I was born and raised in Pavia, Italy.
I am currently studying social work and working in a counselling centre for asylum seekers. I‘m also in an queer event group that organises concerts, workshops, parties etc.
I like to draw, especially comics, and read.

I love nature: nature and my connection to it is a quite important part in my life. Living in a big city means not always seeing green around you. Spending time in the woods or on the mountains really makes me happy and helps me to reconnect with myself and plants and animals around me.

I love travelling and I've already seen a bit of the world. It is important to me to have a critical view on travelling. I do not support mass tourism or travelling, which is not environmentally friendly and does not respect the cultures of each place.

What motivates me? Good conversations and getting to know knew people, learning about new perspectives and discovering new places and things I've never seen, tasted, heard or felt before.
I love my friends and one thing that brings me happiness is spending time with them - talking, coexisting or on adventures. All different kinds of culture also make me happy. I love the theater and a good concert (although I'm not too good at making music myself, or maybe exactly because of it).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My expertise lies in the social field - I'm almost finished with my Social Work bachelors degree and I've already worked quite a bit. I'm particularly experienced when it comes to working with children and youth. I've worked in a centre and open space for girls and women with migration background and am now working in a counselling project for asylum seekers. I've worked with children and youth with disabilities and in a cultural centre, organizing events. Now I'm in a queer event group, which organizes parties and poltical events. I would describe myself as social and open-minded.
I speak a few different languages: my mother tongues are German and Italian. I am fluent in English. I can communicate in French, a bit in Spanish and Swahili.
My father is a carpenter and since I was a child I've helped him: I have basic knowledge of building with wood and renovating furtiture.
Apart from that I'm intrested in learning more on plants and cultivation, as well on animal care. I've always loved nature, but to be honest my knowledge is not too broad when it comes to plants and growing. I would love to expand my skills.
I would describe myself as a hard worker - I am not shy when it comes to physical work and I'm dedicated to the things I'm working on.

I have already volonteered many times over the last 10 years, so I know quite a bit about volounteering programs!
