Hi, I’m Alfie! I’m an open-minded, adventurous mom to one daughter - Ella.
I’ve loved traveling all my life and will go anywhere!

My “style” of travel is to live how the locals do. I’m not interested in being a tourist; I’d rather meet regular people just living life and be a part of their daily routine.

Now that my daughter is away at university, I plan to travel and see as much of the world as possible. I love meeting local people and always have the best experiences when fortunate enough to stay in someone’s home. I’m known for meeting people literally everywhere I go, and have made friends while standing in line, grocery shopping, riding the bus, on a plane - even in the restroom!

I enjoy talking with others who have different cultures & backgrounds and learning about people from all walks of life.

Some of my interests: travel/exploring the world/meeting new people, languages, good conversation. cooking & baking, do-it-yourself/fixing things, health, exercise & wellness.

A bit more about me:
I started traveling in February. I eat most foods and also I don’t mind vegan. I’m not a picky eater when abroad and always try local specialties!
Non-smoker, drive a manual transmission; I understand most Spanish and can get by conversationally in French & German.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have several years restaurant and hospitality experience, as a bartender, server and manager (all shifts). I’ve also worked in catering & event/party planning and have a great attention to detail. I understand customer service especially when it comes to family-owned small businesses. I’ve been a single mom for over 10 years which means I’m able to multi-task, schedule & plan almost anything!
I'm currently managing a guesthouse (volunteer) in Iceland with a focus on cleaning/preparing the apartments for guests.
I have a “can-do”, team player attitude. I’m open-minded with a sense of urgency, and always willing to learn new things.
