Hello future hosts! I am a hairdresser from Scotland however I have been living in sunny Australia for the last 16 months. It has been such an incredible adventure getting to solo travel for the first time, I loved the feeling of exploring so much I also went to Thailand and Vietnam by myself!
I have discovered a true passion for learning new cultures as well as fully immersing myself in the experience of being somewhere new.
I am a very open, honest individual who is just looking to gather as many new adventures as possible!
I would love to participate in some form of outdoor work as I am a big fan of being in nature and not afraid to get my hands dirty :)
My availability is from the start of June - 20th June 2026 and 5th August -26th August 2026

What an incredible 3 weeks I spent with Jacky and Jo - two truly positive and fun individuals.
My time with them went so unbelievably fast as I just enjoyed everyday and every task that was sent my way.

Abigail stayed with us for three weeks, and from the very beginning she was an absolute ray of sunshine! Always cheerful, smiling, funny, open and communicative – it was simply a pleasure to have her around.

What we appreciated just as much was how willing and easy-going she was when it came to the work itself. Abigail simply got stuck in and … read more helped with everything without hesitation or complaining. Whether it was physically demanding work in the heat, the less exciting job of pulling weeds, or spending hours helping us clean the pool and scrub the pool cover after a fire in the region had left everything covered in ash and smoke residue – she was always ready to help. No task was too boring, too dirty or too tiring. She was incredibly flexible, adapted easily to whatever needed to be done and always approached the work with a great attitude. We could really rely on her.

She has a real interest in languages, which gave us plenty of laughs. German words were tried out with increasing enthusiasm, and some of the tongue twisters became a source of great entertainment! In return, we got to discover the Scottish accent and learn quite a few funny, typically Scottish words and expressions.

Cooking and baking happened pretty much every day, depending on the mood – and we ended up with lots of delicious recipes that will now hopefully find their way to Scotland, Australia and many other places Abigail will discover on her travels.

Our dogs absolutely loved Abigail too and were spoiled with plenty of cuddles and serious amounts of belly rubs. And our fountain? Abigail gave it more than just a little makeover – it has already come back to life and is looking better than ever!

In her free time, Abigail was always curious and keen to explore. She loved discovering the region, going on little adventures and even taking a spontaneous trip to a Mediterranean island. She also managed to charm our French neighbours – and enjoyed some original cannelés from our former maître boulanger, now 80 years old, who came from Bordeaux. Even funnier: just a few days earlier, she had unknowingly visited the very same boulangerie where he used to work!

Of course, there was also time for the important things in life: reading a good book in the hammock and enjoying the seemingly endless sunshine by the pool after a day’s work.

We will definitely miss Abigail’s fresh, cheerful and positive energy. She brought lots of laughter, curiosity and good vibes into our home, and it was a real pleasure sharing these three weeks with her.

We wish her a wonderful time with her family now, before heading back to Australia and then out into the big wide world again. We hope she has many more adventures, discoveries and unforgettable moments ahead of her.

Abigail, you are always very welcome back here – our door is always open for you!

I had the pleasure of spending 3 weeks with Darcie and Jeff in a beautiful town outside of Tarbes.
During my stay, I felt incredibly welcome and comfortable within their family. I got to enjoy spending time with them as individuals as well as being introduced to their friends.
