I have just finished my studies and would now like to be on the road again. My next destination is Belgium.

Hi everybody!
I'm Jaël (27 years old) and I live in Basel (Switzerland).
I have just finished my degree in social work and I'm ready for a break now. I'm planning to spend that break in Belgium.

I'm planning to visit Belgium as a backpacker. So far, I have only met extremely friendly and likeable Belgians. Now I would like to visit this country and see what it has to offer. I also love the French language and hope that I can improve my French a little.

About me as a person:
Gardening triggers unbelievable feelings of happiness in me. Whether it's growing seedlings, watering them in the evening, planning the mixed culture in new beds or simply coming into contact with the earth while weeding. Gardening allows me to switch off and recharge my batteries.
I generally like to be in nature and go on wild herb walks or collect mushrooms. Afterwards, I like to experiment with the treasures I have found in the garden, forest and meadow. I test new recipes to preserve and ferment the harvest.
I'm also currently attending a baking course where I'm learning how to bake vegan and wholefood. I am very interested in an exchange about all these things.
Other interests of mine are dancing, genealogy and France (the language, the culture and the landscape).

Professionally:
I work in socio-culture. I am interested in social space, which dynamics take place in it and which people move in it and how. In the future, I would like to deepen my knowledge in permaculture, social urban planning (master's degree) and social solutions in dealing with climate change. New inputs, impressions and experiences are very welcome.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I love to garden and, because of my own garden, I have experience in maintaining a garden, planning, growing seedlings and processing the harvest. I also volunteered at an urbangardening start-up for two years. There I learned to write down my gardening knowledge, to pass it on to interested people in workshops, to write texts and to sell products related to a balcony garden online or at markets.
I also helped my grandparents from an early age with the grape harvest from their vineyard.

Since I was a child, I have helped my grandparents with major and minor renovations (wallpapering, painting, updating furniture, cleaning) in our house.

I like to plan, organise and evaluate social events. I also have professional experience in this field due to my socio-cultural work (neighbourhood meeting point and youth participation project). I also enjoy spending time with children, both professionally and privately (day structure, babysitting, camp leader).

During my studies, I often worked as a waitress or in sales. These are both jobs that I enjoy.

I am good at and always interested in finding creative solutions;)
