Description

Hi, I am Huang Zitao, a third-year architecture design student at the National University of Singapore. Currently I am on my exchange semester at the University of California (UCLA). Given this great opportunity, I hope to explore the lifestyle the beautiful weather on the west coast.

I was fortunate enough to receive a full scholarship to study at an school (staying in boarding schools. Art Elective program, I specialized in watercolor and oil painting; and in architecture school, I have honed my model-making and design skills. I am a responsible, respectful, resilient, and resourceful person, always open for new adventures.

In my free time, I also love to watch cultural and sci-fi movies, reading classical literature, and visiting galleries and exhibitions. As a member of the Green Committee in my university residence, gardening and construction work also interests me. My hobbies now include DIY, terrariums making, and sketchbook journaling. Some of my internship and volunteering experiences include:
1. Interface design for a socializing App for pets, together with my seniors from McGill University in 2021.

2. Teach art and science to primary school children in a village in Northern China (2022). The highlight of this trip would be planning and executing the hand-crafting activities, where the children learned about the food chain, and designed their own creatures for a battle royale game.

3. Through Workaway, I have helped an elderly art collector to paint and refurbish his private gallery in Southern France (2022). This was truly an eye-opening experience in the rustic landscape, and a fun cultural exchange with the local residents.

4. Likewise, I also connected with a few hosts and Germany last summer on this platform, while attending a summer school in Berlin. I helped out with cooking local cuisines, gardening, and household chores.

5. This summer I have helped with rebranding, landscape and interior design in a river-side resort in western Thailand. It was a great opportunity to learn to communicate with contractors and clients visually, have a glimpse at the hotel industry.
