Hi there! My name is Zander. I was born and raised in South Africa, and I am currently on a gap year, which is why I've decided to travel and sign up for Workaway.

My brother did Workaway during his gap year, and he says it was such an experience, he still talks to the people he met 10 years ago.

Back home I work at my family's coffee shop where I'm involved in everything from barista work to sourcing single origin beans directly from farms in Uganda. Coffee is something I'm genuinely passionate about, so I'm always keen to learn more about the process from farm to cup.

I'm comfortable with physical work, happy to get stuck in, and easy to have around. I enjoy cooking, being outdoors, and connecting with people from different cultures. I'm also great with kids, I grew up in a big family and am very comfortable around young children, whether that's helping with activities, reading, or just keeping them entertained.

I'm a hands-on and fairly adaptable person, and I love helping out wherever needed. I have experience with small carpentry and DIY projects.
I've worked as a Barista, so I'm able to work in fast-paced environments and have experience in customer interaction. I also enjoy crocheting and crafts, and I'm great with children.
