Description
I've spent the past few years working on small farms, and fell in love with that lifestyle. I value the independence and freedom of producing my own food, and that every day is different than the one before. The work is hard, but it's always worth it to watch a place grow. I have experience in gardening, animal care, cooking, and construction. I'm always happy to share my knowledge with anyone, and love learning from others!

I stayed with Katie and Tiger for 2 weeks in March 2024 and loved it! Both of them are very friendly and accommodating, and I felt welcomed into their home as soon as I got there. Some of the work involved removing guinea grass and planting pigeon pea, madre de cacao, avocado, lychee, and breadfruit in bands. The property is a long, narrow farm on… read more

I was able to stay for about a week at the farm, and loved it. I'm interested in one day starting a cacao farm, so was glad to spend time talking with someone who really knows what he's doing. The finca is a small (couple of hectares) farm on a slope. Work included chopping the underbrush with a machete, making concrete, splitting logs, and… read more

I spent several weeks at Monique and Jim's permaculture project doing a variety of different tasks. These included landscaping a pile of dirt into a terraced hill for pineapples, building rock retaining walls around the terraces, and building a glass bottle wall. Emma's yoga school was a phenomenal workaway experience with some of the nicest people I've met. The place is run primarily by her family, who made me feel part of the group from the minute I walked through the gate. My time volunteering in the jungle was great. I worked with the garden, kitchen, and animal pastures of a resort trying to become self sufficient with their food.
