Hi,

We are a swiss couple, we do speak english and french and we have leave everything behind to travel the world.
We are really excited to meet you and help as best we can! What brings us joy is to discover different cultures and cuisines, we like being in nature and enjoy it in many ways.
Nils is a very good hiker, he loves to go on long walks and sleep outside. He's work and passion is horticulturist and spends most of his time in the garden.
As for myself (vickie) I have an education as seamstress but work in an office as IT and staff manager. I love animals and especially dogs. I like to create things with my hands and I am a people person.

We can't wait to start our journey and to get to know you !

Vickie is very interested in learning Japanese, Spanish and improve in German. She can teach english and frenchNils would like to improve his english and learn about any new languages. He is trying to learn Russian and Romanian and to read Arabic, Greek and Korean. He constantly starts learning new languages.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Vickie has worked in various different fields from teaching to managing the customer service department in an international company, worked in various shops, did some fashion design etc.
She lived in New York for almost 2 years, first as an aupair and later in a fashion luxury brand. She is flexible and loves to learn new things !

Nils graduated as a horticulturist. He is always in the garden working and loves to take care of nature. He has spent a year working in different part of Switzerland to build dry stone walls and helped preserve our beautiful landscapes. He's first degree was in arts and he really enjoys drawing, playing guitar and writing.
He likes working with his hands and is always motivated!

Workaway experience :

France (2022)
Volunteering in a permaculture garden, cooking with gardens products, and wooden structure construction.

Spain
Contributed to the enhancement of an isolated countryside house, undertaking renovation and organization tasks.

France
1 month helping in the restoration of an 16th-century castle, participating in renovation work, designs and landscaping projects.

Japan (2023)
Four months in a community on a farm, implementing regenerative agriculture principles.

Philippines
Provided assistance in a guesthouse in a remote village in the Philippines, focusing on garden work and decorative design.

Malaysia
Be part in a family by helping with cooking, cleaning tasks, and caring for a one-year-old girl.

How lucky we were to be able to spend two and a half weeks at Anton's with Chico (who is the best doggie ever).

Nous sommes restés un peu plus d’une semaine avec Dominique et avons regretté ne pas être restés plus longtemps, tellement notre séjour a été riche en expériences.

Vickie & Nils and the little dog Momo came for a week in February, from the very beginning a friendly atmosphere set in, it's a very sociable triad. The charming little Momo, although she weighs no more than two pounds, does not go unnoticed, when we walk around. All eyes are on her and communication is established immediately which is not… read more negligible in these times of pandemic, of masked and closed faces; she loves to play, nestle in front of the fireplace and protect us from wild boars and other ferocious animals of the terrible forest.
Vickie is a real chef, she's the queen of spices, I will not forget the nettle quiche in its puff dough, the Swiss specialty braided bread, the squash gratin with white sauce, the chestnut jam... She is also very good at DIY, crafts, and in organization .
Nils is very knowledgeable in the field of botany, a genius horticulturist, and a very good handyman.
Both are perfectionists, jovial,
courageous, sociable.
They are complementary Vickie is more extroverted and more outspoken, Nils is calm and in reflection.
They have rendered me great services: reorganization of workspaces, manufacture of small wooden greenhouses with recycled materials, reorganization of a mobile home. Do-it-yourself and manufacture of wooden furniture, germination test of various seeds, maintenance of the house...
on the leisure side they are sporty and spontaneous, they get up early to help me organize, always up for kayaking, long walks and picnics, zumba, yoga and salsa.
all to say the stay went very well they can come back for my greatest pleasure.

Vickie & Nils et la petite chienne Momo sont venus une semaine en février ,dés début une ambiance amicale s’est installée , c’est un trio très sociable . La charmante petite Momo bien qu’elle ne pèse pas plus de deux livres , ne passe pas inaperçue , lorsque l’on se ballade les gens n’ont d’yeux que pour elle , et la communication s’installe , ce qui n’est pas négligeable en ces temps de pandémie , de visages masqués et fermés ; elle adore jouer , se nicher devant la cheminée et nous protéger des sanglier et autres animaux féroces de la terrible forêt .
Vickie est un véritable cordon bleu , c’est la reine des épices , je n’oublierais pas la quiche aux orties dans sa pâte feuilleté , la tresse spécialité helvétique ,le gratin de courge sauce blanche ,la confiture de châtaignes … très douée en bricolage , et en organisation .
Nils est très savant dans le domaine de la botanique , horticulteur de génie , et très bon bricoleur.
Tous les deux sont perfectionnistes , jovials ,
courageux, sociables .
Ils sont complémentaires Vickie est plus extravertie plus locace , Nils est dans la réflexion le calme .
Ils m’ont rendu de grands services : réorganisation des espaces de travail , fabrication de petites serres en bois avec des matériaux de récupération , réaménagement d’un mobile home . Bricolage et fabrication de meubles en bois, test de germination de diverses graines ,entretien de la maison …
côté loisir ils sont sportifs et spontanés ,ils se lèvent tôt pour m’aider à organiser , toujours partants pour le kayak , les longues marches et le pique-nique , la zumba , le yoga et la salsa .
Donc le séjour s’est très bien passé ils peuvent revenir pour mon plus grand plaisir .
