Description

Hey! My name is Vanessa. I’m traveling around New Zealand and I’m living in my self contained Van names Pumpkin. At the moment I spend most of my time in nature and I’m exploring the country.

About me: I grew up in a small village in the north of Germany, with my pretty big family and my super sweet dog names Nala, which I probably miss the most! I really enjoy being around people, but at the same time I don’t mind spending time by myself, as I decided to travel to the other side of the world by myself.
At home, I spend a lot of time with my dog teaching her new tricks and going for a walk in a near forest. I also love to spend time at my sisters place to help her with things around the house or sitting her newborn, my niece.
I discovered, that I love to go for some hikes as well and really enjoy the lifestyle I currently have.

About my education:
Besides school, I worked as a waitress near my village. After almost 7 years in the business I worked as a bartender, a kitchen hand and in customer service in a busy environment.
I completed my training as a medical assistant in June 2024 and worked in a doctor’s office. I discovered that I want to go to University, but until that I'm excited to spend some time exploring the culture and landscapes of New Zealand, meeting new people and connect traveling with work.

I worked on a kiwi farm in Tauranga for about 6 weeks, which was a totally new experience and although it was hard I really enjoyed it. We lived in a house with 10 of my colleagues and we had such a great time there!
In addition I worked as a waitress in a Café, where I had a good time as well.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I would consider myself as a quick learner, always attempting to do things as good as possible. I’m open to work in different task and always interested to learn something new!:)

Animals - I have experience being surrounded by animals such as horses and dogs. I was horse riding for about 3 years, but I would probably need a refreshment. My grandparents had a little farm with chicken, pigs and cows.

Crafts and outdoor work - I don’t have lots of experience with that except for some gardening/farm work (weeding, sorting vegetables,…) but I’m not afraid of physical work and would love to learn some more!:)

Working with people and children - In my internships I worked at an outpatient care center and at a primary school, at each for 6 months. As a medical assistant I have first aid skills and I’m surrounded by people all ages everyday and comfortable to care for them.

Working in service: I’m familiar with the work as a cashier, bartender and lately got a training in being a barista. I love the customer service while being a waitress.
I enjoy to prepare celebrations and often help on birthdays for family and friends!:)

Housework and cooking - I have basic skills to do tasks in households like cleaning and doing laundry. I love to cook and bake and I’m always interested in new recipes!
