Hi, I’m Thijn — a calm, self-reliant person with a deep appreciation for structure, nature, and meaningful work.

About my profile picture: I hope it comes across as focused or reflective (not bitter or angry!) — I don’t have many recent photos of myself, but I’ll happily share more if needed.

I’m originally from the Netherlands, though lately I’ve found it too noisy and much rather challenge myself in new environments, live closer to nature and experience the full seasons. Over the past years I’ve built a simple, disciplined lifestyle centered on self-study, personal growth, and physical presence. I’m not easily shaken, and I enjoy meaningful conversations and contributing to a steady, purposeful environment. I do enjoy learning, exchanging stories, a joke, and seeing how others shape their lives. My hope is to contribute quietly but reliably, and maybe share some clarity or strength where it’s useful.

My long-term vision is to one day have my own place in northern Scandinavia, living mostly self-sufficiently. I’m currently focused on building more independence and see Workaway as a chance to exchange value while getting grounded in new landscapes and rhythms, while learning the essentials that lead toward that goal.

What I Can Offer:

At the moment reading John Seymour's book "self sufficiency", but also brought a book of Robert Bly and Jung and Nietzche on my trip. And around Halloween I can't help myself but read something scary.. ;)


I am getting more interested in cooking lately, especially with everything that can be grown yourself, would love to learn more about it.


Interested in system building both on practical on symbolic front.
