Description

Hi. My name is Thalia. I love stories, I love to swim and hike, I love to laugh and to connect with others. I am conscious of my impact on others and want to have a positive effect in the world and to help people as best I can. I am hoping to find work in my own industry (film) in this part of the world but in the meantime I am looking for base(s) short / long term in the North island of New Zealand. Ideally around Auckland / New Zealand where the film hubs are. I'm a hard worker and have done a Workaway in Australia and am looking forward to contributing to a warm household in New Zealand.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a people person but I am also really happy to sit down quietly and work away at a task. I love to cook and I am brilliant at organising and tidying spaces and wardrobes, I do script writing in my free time. My employment history includes; hospitality, education, film, welfare, fundraising and lifeguarding and I have lived in community.

In hospitality I have been a waitress and greeter at a big hotel. In education I have been an English tutor for children between 8 and 17, mentor for young people at university, and admissions tutor for university applications. In film I have worked in the costume and art departments in the workshops, office, and on set. This role has made me very physically fit as there is a lot of lifting, being on your feet all day and working with materials that require strength. I have worked with a lot of different tools and machines from laser cutters, to latex, to metal. I love taking things apart and understanding how they work. In welfare I have supported university students and run campaigns and events. In fundraising I have done cold-calling at a campaign centre, I have also just been a juror.
