Hey!
We’re Tania and Ross
A friendly, adventurous and hard-working couple who love travelling, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures and discovering amazing food along the way!

We’re both well travelled and happiest when we’re getting involved, keeping busy and trying something new. Between us, we have years of experience in hospitality, hostels, agriculture, food, IT, development, electrical work, childcare and practical projects. We’re comfortable working in fast-paced, lively environments and aren’t afraid to get stuck in wherever help is needed.

Tania helps run a family food business alongside working in the IT and development world, giving her experience in hospitality, customer service, organisation, cooking, food preparation, administration, sales, social media and technical tasks. Ross is an electrician and a practical, hands-on person who can help with maintenance, repairs, painting, construction, renovations and general projects around a property.

We also have experience in childcare and are comfortable caring for children, keeping them entertained, supporting daily routines and creating a safe, positive and enjoyable environment. We’re patient, responsible and adaptable, and happy to help with childcare as part of a family or community project.

We’re also happy to help with gardening, cleaning, reception work, guest interaction, organising activities and supporting the day-to-day running of a hostel, guesthouse, farm or other project. We’re adaptable, quick to learn and happy working independently or as part of a team.

We’re huge animal lovers and have a beautiful Vizsla called Rocco. Rocco may not be travelling with us, but animals are a big part of our lives, and we would be more than happy to help with pets, farm animals or general animal care.

Health and wellbeing are important parts of our lifestyle. We love to hike, run, cycle, swim, train, practise Pilates and yoga, and get involved in CrossFit. We enjoy anything that keeps us moving and challenges us, especially when travelling somewhere new. Whether it’s hiking a mountain, exploring somewhere by bike, going for an early morning run, finding an amazing place to swim, joining a local CrossFit class or slowing things down with yoga or Pilates, we’re always keen to get involved and try something new.

But we definitely believe in balance! As much as we love keeping active and looking after ourselves, we also enjoy experiencing the nightlife, food, music and social culture of the places we visit. For us, travelling is about experiencing the whole lifestyle of a destination — from sunrise hikes and local food markets to live music, festivals, nightlife and a few drinks with new friends.

We’re a very social, outgoing and approachable couple. We love the community side of travelling sharing meals, having conversations, exchanging stories and getting to know people from different backgrounds. We both have bold personalities and plenty of energy, and we like to think we bring a fun, positive and welcoming atmosphere wherever we go.

We understand that Workaway is about contributing, not just travelling. We’re reliable, hard-working and always willing to go above and beyond. We take pride in doing a job properly, being respectful of the people and places we work with, and helping wherever we’re needed.

We’re particularly interested in projects involving hostels, guesthouses, families, childcare, farms, food businesses, eco-projects, animal care, renovation, maintenance and community-based work. We’re open to learning new skills and would love to contribute to projects where we can use our existing experience while developing new abilities.

Our goal is to spend this year taking part in Workaway projects around the world, learning new skills and experiencing places in a way that goes much deeper than simply visiting as tourists. We want to learn about different cultures, communities, food and ways of life while sharing our own skills and experiences along the way.

Most importantly, we want to meet brilliant people, work hard, have a laugh, challenge ourselves and make some unforgettable memories together. We’re always up for an adventure, so if you’re looking for two enthusiastic, sociable and capable people who aren’t afraid to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you!
