Actuellement, nous sommes

Description

We are Sylvia and Gabriel, a married couple from Austria (living in Switzerland). We are planning to workaway in Asia. We are looking for an authentic experience and cultural exchange. We want to give something back to the world and use our skills to help others. Therefore, we want to work at schools, with animals or for NGOs.
We are looking forward to a cultural exchange, learning about the language, food, history, art, and customs of other countries. We would like to be a part of the family or community we work with.

We love nature and all things outdoors like hiking, kayaking, animal watching etc.
Because Gabriel went to art school and worked in art management in the past, we are also very interested in learning about local arts and crafts.

We are both outgoing, open-minded and communicative. We also think that we learn quite fast and we are really happy to try new things.

We both come from rural Austria, but now live in Switzerland. If you are interested, we are very happy to share something about our home as well.

We are more than happy to teach German (our mother tongue) or English, which we are very proficient in. Sylvia is a certified English language teacher and teaches English at a Swiss high school. We could also teach French (which we are fluent in), but only at a basic level. We would love to learn new languages and Gabriel would like to improve his Russian skills.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are both responsible and mature and are able to work in a variety of areas. Here are our specific skills:
Sylvia: I am a certified high school teacher for English and Mathematics with more than 5 years teaching experience. I teach different levels at school (mostly 15- to 20-year-olds), and from years of private tutoring, I am used to teaching any level from primary to adult learner. I could also teach my mother-tongue German and basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, or using mail programs).

Gabriel: I have experience and patience working with small children and teenagers as a sports instructor (judo). I can teach the languages German, English, and beginners French. I have done my own art projects for many years, and I am skilled in sculpting and carving (in different materials like clay, plaster, or wood) and drawing (which I would love to teach as well). I can also teach Microsoft programs (Excel, Word etc.) As I have several years of experience as a project manager and financial controller at an international company, I can teach business skills or help an organisation in these areas.

We are also ready to do physically hard jobs (farm, animal work etc.).
