A young woman who knows exactly how to use her voice. Extremely driven, I am passionate about the humanitarian crises of our world in connection to women’s health access. It is imperative that all women have the option to obtain adequate education, healthcare, and opportunities. I will be at the forefront of future infrastructure improvements regarding female health disparities. My internationally sourced education has allowed for me to form a globally sensitive mindset that has served as an advantage throughout my education and career. Quelles sont vos compétences ?
A native English speaker with a lot of experience with children. I have explicitly volunteered with children in Turkey, Guatemala, and Tanzania. In the past, I have lived in Chinese and French host families. I am a very diligent student and outside of my busy school schedule I have completed 2 internships and worked a long-term job. I worked on my local farm for 7 years and my most recent internship was conducted at Harvard Medical school. I have studied college-level French and am currently majoring in Arabic. An extremely enthusiastic young woman I am hardworking and willing to persevere through any obstacle I may face.

I had an amazing time with Dev and everyone at the beautiful village of Laluri. Thank you to Dev the most, wow, he is so engaging, welcoming, dedicated, and overall an extremely caring host. I am so… read more grateful for the amazing conversations from Indian philosophers to how to cook a delicious roti. You will never be hungry at Dev's home in Laluri. He is a spectacular cook and truly provides his guests with mouth-watering Uttarakhand cuisine. Dev communicates how to get to his home perfectly and continuously checks in to make sure you are comfortable and content all throughout the stay.

In the mornings we rose at 6:30 and helped to dig the reservoir. Our walk to the digging spot was always accompanied by a lovely sunrise. All the while we would talk about life and I quite enjoyed this 2 hour section of the morning. Then we had a break for a nice breakfast. Following this, there were two hours digging turmeric in the sunshine. The work is physically demanding sometimes but working or playing with the village children in the evening after lunch (normally holding an hour-long English class for the younger kids) was always the perfect reward to end the day. The kids are so sweet and I became very fond of many of them. Throughout your work day (and your entire stay) you can see just how dedicated and devoted Dev is to his project as well as how much everyone in the village adores him and appreciates his work. At the end of the day we often played cards with the neighborhood community which was always a lot of fun.

Trekking here is unmatched. Wow. The view from the village is truly unbelievable. I like to run and I loved running by myself on the mountain roads. I felt very safe and once again the views were really incredible, the mountains are insane! Dev also took me trekking and on a lovely trip to Srinagar, if you want to sight see in the area he is flexible and will definitely facilitate or help you get where you want to go.

I was grateful for the integration into the village Dev provides his workers through allowing us to truly connect with villagers and immerse in the village life/culture. I really loved all that I learned about Laluri and its beautiful people through my conversations with different villagers and I will always cherish the moments as well as many laughs. Most of all I must make clear that you will leave with a rejuvenated sense of motivation due to Dev's incredible devotion to the village, its people, and his work. Thank you Dev, for the memories, teachings, warmth and of course all the laughter, I hope I will return again. Dhanyavaad and pappis always.

In summary, Dev’s hospitality is wonderful, the work is rewarding, and you will learn so much about the stunning village culture surrounding you. If you are contemplating this Workaway I highly recommend!!!!!
