Description

I am an artist and have been working as a Head of Art in International schools in Hong Kong for the majority of my teaching career. I am now embarking on a new journey of self discovery having returned to Australia.
I am very keen to learn how to live a more sustainable life whilst limiting my impact upon the earth. I want to learn how to implement food growing processes following permaculture principles, preserving techniques, bee keeping and bush regeneration.
In the past I have practiced encaustic painting with beeswax and oils, printmaking and batik painting. I am now aiming to be more transient so have started painting using an iPad and absolutely loving the process.
I am hardworking, well organised, conscientious and love to learn new skills.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have spent my whole career as a Head of Art in high preforming international schools so I am highly organised and conscientious. I love sorting, tidying and creating systems and order. Yes I love cleaning and tidying!
I am serious about learning gardening techniques and will be keen to do further reading and research about what I learn.
I have been a city dweller in Hong Kong but have spent six months volunteering at Sydney City Farm 3 days per week to get some basic experience in weeding, harvesting, mulching, seed collection and seed sowing. I have found there is nothing more satisfying than weeding and mulching.
I have also been house sitting looking after chickens and dogs and can provide referees from these.
(Unfortunately I am allergic to cats upon close contact, but can tolerate them in a well ventilated room. )

I have completed an introduction to Permaculture course.
I enjoy gym training, yoga, bushwalking, kayaking , fishing and skiing.
I have also been volunteering with feeding the homeless in Sydney and am always keen to contribute to community activities.
