Hey! My name is Sara but I've always wanted a nickname :')

I'm a person full of energy, always seeking for something to do. I'm like a "kid", getting excited for the very little things in life.

I'm studying to become an actress, my goal is to make a difference in the world, to be that person that inspires others. I am a very determined person full of dreams and aspirations. I am of the opinion that the more things you do in life the richer you are, the people you know are the ones who make you the person you are.

I'm the kind of person who gets overloaded and always makes sure to fit everything together perfectly. I would like to live a hundred lives so I can do everything. My biggest fear is having regrets. That's why I'm here! I want to be that one friend who's doing crazy stuff somewhere in the world on a normal tuesday!

Besides all this philosophical stuff, I'm very easygoing, I can be a talker but also a good listener. Anyone can talk to me about any topic, seriously. I love when people talk to me about something they care about. I want to learn everything from the people I meet, I often find myself asking for life advices to random people on the street :D

I was an exchange student ('21-'22) in Finland for a semester. It was the best experience ever done so far. I've met my second family there, people that have taught me so much. I love the culture and I'm so happy I brought it to Italy with me.

I'd love to learn more finnish as I lived in Finland for six months (I have basic knowledge but I'm in love with the culture). Anyway I'm interested in all languages, usually the most "difficult" the better! Moreover sharing my own language (Italian) would be a honor for me, it's not just about the grammar but the culture behind! In conclusion I'm also able to teach English as I speak it daily and have held lessons in the past.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I'm an active person, always up for some exercise or try new sports. I'm a black belt in Kung Fu, a discipline that I've been practicing since I was six years old.

As an actress I've developed so many soft skills, such as empathy, teamwork and public speaking (shy? tsk, I can talk to rocks)

I've been working in the F&B sector for almost two years now (in Milan where I live): caterings (weddings, stadium, company events...), various restaurants, cafes and bars.
I've also worked in Finland in a factory as a summer worker, one of the best experience so far, as I didn't really know the language but still managed to make friends and get the job done :D

I'm a private tutor for kids aged 13-17 as I'm helping them with homework for school.
I also have experience as a baby sitter with children aged 1-3, changing diapers, making food and let them fall asleep (the secret is to sing!)
I have experience with children from elementary to high school, as I am an educator in church and I am an animator for summer camps.

I'm up to everything! When I go abroad I have one rule: never say no! Being open to new opportunities is essential, especially if it's something you would never do in your home country. I'm looking for life changing experience, I want to be that type of grandma who has tons of stories to tell!

I had the pleasure of staying at the shelter for three weeks in August. There I met Thomas and Diamanto, two fantastic people with a big heart. I had interesting conversations with Diamanto about Greece, food, travels, life and so on (she has sooo many advice!)

Before coming to the shelter I thought I knew a lot about dogs (as I myself had one in… read more the past), but this experience taught me a lot. Each dog has its own unique personality: they have preferences, they get along with some and others less so... In short, I had the feeling of being with children! (As sometimes they really act like that!)

I think that two/three weeks are the minimum to get used to the routine and get to enjoy it without worrying whether you're doing everything right or not (luckily both Diamanto and Thomas followed me initially and allowed me to make mistakes and learn). I must admit that some days were tiring (I woke up around 5:30 in the morning to start work at 6, and sometimes I finished by 10/10:30). You have to be adaptable and full of energy, there is a lot of work to do! BUT I had the pleasure of being surrounded by animals that gave me affection every day. The best feeling is making bonds with them and find out that after few days they trust you more.

For more than half the experience I slept with a kitten that I had to take care of (very cute but demanding!) I shared the house I was staying in with another volunteer, without whom I would not have had so much fun (love you Josefine!) I must admit that it made this experience really nice, almost every day after the morning shift we went to the beach, and then came back in the afternoon, relax and go out again with the goats in the evening.

I had a lot of fun hanging out with the goats. Initially I was a bit perplexed about how to "guide" them, but in the end I got used to it and it became one of my favorite moments of the day. It's amazing how much you can learn from animals!

Overall it was a great experience, I have to admit that I worked a lot (very often more than 5 hours), but if you don't mind getting your hands dirty, taking a cold shower or finding some cat hair in your food or various scratches... Then this experience is definitely for you! I only regret not spending a little more time in Greece, as I was starting to learn a few words and make friendship with some locals.

This experience has taught me a lot about Greek culture and stray dogs. There's so much to know. It's not just spending time with dogs, but it means helping them, providing them a home with comfort, food, safe and clean environment and medicines. By just staying at the shelter for a few days you can help a lot! And the most important thing is to SHARE in your home country, city, everywhere about this sanctuary and these good people. The dogs are always looking for a family!

Thank you so much Thomas and Diamanto for allowing me to have this beautiful experience and for showing me that there are people in this world who are really full of love and dedication. I really admire you!
