Description

I have lived in a small town all my life, so during my gap year my goal is to see more of the world. My family travels a lot, but in the past I have had my parents guiding me through everything. I want to travel and learn about new cultures more independently. I would also love to learn how to speak German and about life on a farm so I can be more handy and teach myself to live more sustainably.

The outdoors—nature and animals—motivates me. When I get sick of my house I am fortunate to live in a place surrounded by parks and trails. I am a very silly and curious person once I open up. During my Workaway, I hope to gain autonomy, meet new people, learn more about my interests before heading to college, and spend lots of time outside.

- Experience working with animals as I had a gecko and six guinea pigs, I used to work at a pet store, and I frequently pet sit.

I am interested in academics such as global geography, biology, physics, and the arts. I do not formally play an instrument but I know a few songs and like to play around on the guitar, piano, harmonica, and recorder. I played tennis and baseball/softball in high school, and I enjoy playing pickup soccer, basketball, frisbee, and other games. In my free time I like to paint, play cards, write, and exercise.
