Dear Host,

we are Juliane and Soeren, 29 and 33 years old and live in Hannover in northern Germany. Juliane graduated in civil engineering at the beginning of the year and is currently gaining her first work experience in an engineering office in Hanover. Soeren has already finished his studies in Civil Engineering in 2016 and is working in a planning office in Hildesheim near Hannover.

In the last few years, we have both separately already gained various travel experiences (in almost all of Europe, Panama, Peru, Australien and USA) on longer and shorter tours. Since 1,5 years we are a couple and now we want to fulfill our common dream to start on a journey without a certain destination and without a certain duration. Our home during this time will be a VW-Bulli, which we have named "Bruno". Currently we are preparing Bruno for this time, whereby we take over the interior fittings as well as all necessary repairs in own contribution.

Soeren has already traveled with workaway 3 times in the past and has only had good experiences. He has been on 3 different farms in Italy, Norway and Spain and has helped the hosts with animal care, work on the farm and field, building and maintaining accommodation as well as with family tasks. He enjoyed the time there very much as well as this kind of travelling. He particularly loved the direct contact with the people and the special insights into their culture and way of life. We also see that as a traveler you can benefit greatly from the local knowledge of the people living there.

On our trip, we want to get to know the country we are passing through and the people who live there. That is why we are convinced that the workaway.info platform is a good model for us. At the same time it helps us to burden the travel budget as little as possible in order to extend our journey.

Some more information about us:

Juliane:
In addition to my profession as a civil engineer, I have been self-employed in the field of crafts for many years. Among my most frequent activities were the repair of roofs, the installation of skylights and the construction of fences.
In my free time I like to do things with friends, my family, my godchild or in our garden. In addition, sports are one of my special hobbies, and I have been playing soccer in a local club for over 15 years. Another great hobby is sailing, where I am currently taking my exam for ocean sailing.

Soeren:
I also like to spend my free time doing things with friends and family. For 5 years I have a niece with whom I love to spend time on the playground. I also enjoy photography, sports (especially handball, but also other sports) and cooking. On vacation I like to go hiking or sailing.

We would describe ourselves as very adaptable, friendly and open-minded people who are always up for a good time. We would be very happy if we have aroused your interest in us and if you would give us the opportunity to support you in your projects or everyday tasks. We can't wait to get to know you and the country you live in and make our trip something unforgettable.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are open-minded for all kind of work. There are only a few things which we wouldn’t trust us to do very well. In our opinion one grows with its tasks, that’s why we are always looking for new challenges and experiences. Even as a child both of us supported our parents to fix up the house. Since our childhood we`ve gained some manual skills and technical experience.
