Hello, we are Sianne (25) and Henrik (29) from the UK and Sweden. We both love to travel and met on the road in Mexico a couple of years back. We prefer slow travelling and find volunteering a great way to get to know a place and meet new people :)

A bit about us:
We have both spent the best part of the last two years in Central America, an area of the world which we love. We both enjoy good food, good company, a good laugh and a good sense of adventure. Our biggest hobby is being out in nature. We love hiking, camping, and generally anything outdoors. We also like to cook (vegetarian) and like learning new recipes from different places as we travel.

Our skills:
We are very easy going, open-minded and hard-working people. We both have experience volunteering and spent most of our time in Central America working while we travelled (around 7 months of volunteering in total) as well as our most recent trip to Spain.

Some examples of the work we did include:
Hostel work - cooking breakfasts for guests (Mexican style!), cleaning and generally maintaining the house. This sometimes included jobs such as painting/decorating and gardening.
Outdoor work - digging trenches for a new water catchment system, clearing streams of weeds, picking berries, making wine and other garden maintenance jobs.
Teaching English - we spent a month teaching English in a private institution in Colombia for ages 7-18.

What we are looking for:
We are going to New Zealand in January 2025 on a working-holiday visa. It is our first time in the country and we would love to volunteer in January while we explore some of the North Island. Ideally we would be looking for outdoor/maintenance work and help around the house.
