Hi! My name is Charlotte, I’m 18 years old, and I’ve been in New Zealand since early September to experience Work and Travel. After finishing school this year, I decided to explore the world and gain new experiences. I firmly believe that traveling is one of the best ways to learn, grow, and discover the fascinating aspects of life.

New Zealand immediately captivated me – the breathtaking landscapes and the warm, open-hearted people have truly inspired me.

I come from a small village in Germany, where I grew up in a four-generation household. Living in such a large community has shaped me deeply. I am friendly, helpful, and open-minded, qualities that define me both at home and on my travels. My friends describe me as honest, reliable, and warm-hearted – and occasionally a little cheeky.

In my free time, I play the trumpet in a music club, which often involves traveling for performances. I also enjoy spending time with my dog, whether playing or going for walks. In the past, I played basketball and danced. During my time in New Zealand, I want to experience as many adventures as possible: hiking, white-water rafting, skydiving, and other adrenaline-filled activities are high on my bucket list.

A key goal of my journey is to improve my English. I want to become more confident in speaking, expand my vocabulary, and work on my pronunciation and grammar.

What excites me most about Workaway is the opportunity to meet people from different cultures and collaborate on projects. Whether it’s gardening, household tasks, working with animals, or caring for children – I’m eager to get my hands dirty, learn new skills, and gain valuable experiences.

Through Workaway, I hope not only to offer help but also to learn from my hosts and the communities I become part of. I truly believe that this shared time can be enriching and unforgettable for both sides.

Professionally, I’ve already gained diverse work experience. I’ve worked at a landscaping company, as a sales assistant, and in the kitchen at an ATP tennis tournament. These roles have taught me to be flexible, motivated, and quick to adapt to new tasks. Additionally, I have my own car here in New Zealand, so I’m mobile and ready to take on new challenges at any time.
