Les activités qui m'intéressent :

I'm currently living/traveling in a motorhome in Spain. In May and June I plan to go to Iceland (without the motorhome). I'd like to do a workaway in May and go hiking for most of June.

Description

Hi :) I'm Sasha. Although I'm new to Workaway, I've been "working away" a lot in my life. I've worked as a hiking guide in Siberia, a divemaster in northern Spain, a bartender/waitress in Sydney and Hawaii, a babysitter in Switzerland, and have had many other jobs all over the world.

If you’d like to know where I’m “from”, I was born in Moscow, went to school around NY, university in Australia, and I currently live in Spain. I’ve traveled the world continuously for 15 or so years, so it’s a bit complicated :) I have written a book about my travels and I have a silly little youtube channel mostly about long distance hiking (both are called 'Big World, small Sasha').

I love the outdoors and all sorts of adventures, I love meeting new people and learning about new cultures and perspectives, I’m friendly and generally love to give people a helping hand, and I love animals (I grew up with 3 dogs and a bunch of guinea pigs/hamsters/gerbils, and I've raised stray kittens in Indonesia).

I studied 'international and global studies' at the University of Sydney and although I may not have gained many practical skills from this, I believe that I did get a pretty broad and open-minded perspective of our world, which at times could make for some interesting conversations :).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I can do basic video editing and image manipulation/photo editing. I enjoy cooking and am happy to help with household tasks like cleaning, gardening, taking care of animals, maintenance, construction, manual labor, etc. I am not opposed to getting my hands dirty!
My other skills involve teaching scuba diving or planning long-distance hiking treks, which I'm not sure would be very useful here :) I am however, very keen to learn new skills and help with whatever I can.

Lately I have gained an interest in geology and am interested in hiking around Iceland because it is a fascinating and unique geological wonder.
