Hello everyone!

We are Ross (30, from Scotland) and Ash (31, from England), a friendly and adventurous couple eager to begin a new journey in New Zealand. We have a working/holiday visa and are looking for a meaningful volunteering opportunity where we can contribute to a good cause and make new friends.

Over the past two years, we've been teaching English and exploring Vietnam, which has honed our patience and creativity. Our previous volunteering experiences have taken us to Turkey and Albania, where we worked on organic farms and in hostels.

We're passionate about sustainable living, animal welfare and community. We are both vegetarians and share a love of all animals, big and small. We're skilled at cooking delicious vegetarian meals and we love spending time outdoors sharing meals with friends.

We will be arriving in Christchurch at the start of December and are keen to begin volunteering right away! We would love to hear from you and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Ross
I am enthusiastic about all types of work, here are some key highlights of my skills below:
- 4 years Child care and teaching English as a kindergarten teacher in Vietnam.
- Farm and eco work on parents' allotment in Scotland
- 2.5 years of applied knowledge of mechanical and renewable systems as a professional engineer
- Large and small animal care from helping workaway farms and family pets
- All types of spreadsheet-based administrative works, including other office work
- Experienced hiker across Scotland's hills
- Keen cook & kitchen porter as well as tidying/cleaning

Ash
Over the many years of traveling and volunteering around the world, I have gained a wide variety of skills that continue to help me in everyday life.

- Working on fruit farms in Australia, packing, and planting
- General farmhand work, fertilizing and tending to crops
- Working as an allrounder at a remote roadhouse in the outback
- Prepping and cooking meals in the kitchen
- Recipe and menu design
- General cleaning of bathrooms and motel rooms
- Bar and pub work, serving customers and restocking
- Taking care of children ( age 3-6)
- 7 years Kindergarten teaching experience
- Women's rights volunteer in Bangladesh
- Hostel receptionist and cleaner
- Keen painter ( on paper and on walls)
- Enthusiastic and carefree dancer!

We love to learn about ancient history, explore nature, and camp in the wilderness. Enthusiastic for all things eco-friendly, we try our best to act consciously towards the environment.

We are both very creative and have a passion for drawing and painting, musical instruments of all varieties, pattern design, and sewing.

We also love to just hang out, share stories, and make new friends :)
