Hello Workaway hosts!
We’re Rika (Friederike) from Germany and Stu from Scotland. We’re traveling through Australia, eager to experience as much of its culture, landscapes, and people as possible. 😊
About us:
I (Rika) am a qualified travel agent with a strong background in hospitality. I’ve also worked as an au pair for two years, looking after kids aged 4-14, helping with homework, cooking dinner and doing light housework. I genuinely enjoy cleaning and organising and making spaces feel fresh. If needed, I’d be happy to offer deep / spring cleaning!
Stu has a master’s degree in business and has spent the last two years working in an opal jewellery store in Melbourne alongside reception and housekeeping in hostels. He has a deep love for music from the ‘60s and ‘70s (if The Beatles aren’t playing, something else from that era probably is), enjoys reading and philosophy, playing cards, and talking about movies and soccer.
Together, we love cooking, eating, and spending time with animals (we’re working on making peace with the spider-like ones). We love going to Festivals and we never say no to a good night out. We’re also big movie fans—especially when there’s a solid plot twist.
We’re traveling up north for my 88 days, and along the way, we’re excited to meet locals, lend a hand wherever needed, and create some great memories. Looking forward to meeting you! 😊

STU:
Diverse experience across luxury retail, hospitality, social work, and design/textile production. Skilled in customer service, teamwork, and organisation, I thrive in fast-paced environments. The roles have ranged from showroom sales and night management to youth work and stock management, showcasing adaptability and strong interpersonal skills. I have a full drivers license.
RIKA
Diverse experience across travel, hospitality, childcare, and customer service. With a background as a qualified travel agent, receptionist, and hospitality worker in busy environments, I have strong organisational and communication skills. I also have experience caring for children aged 4 to 14 and take pride in deep cleaning and maintaining well-organized spaces. Extremely hard working and goal oriented. Great Bike Rider

Stu is a black belt in Taekwondo and loves teaching moves to anyone interested. He’s also passionate about movies and music, always eager to share his knowledge.
Rika enjoys playing guitar, swimming, painting, and drawing.
Together, we’re always up for a card game, especially our favorite —Time Bomb (which we take with us everywhere)
