G'day,
My name's Rick.
I'm from Aus and am currently floating around in central America. I had the intention to travel for nearly 5 years but have always had commitments which kept me home. This hasn't been a bad thing though, while I wasn't seeing the world I was often seeing people who were.
For the last 5 years I've been listening to stories from people who were travelling the world and ended up in my corner of south west Australia. One of the things I heard the most was to volunteer. So I suppose that's why I'm here.
If I was to sum up myself briefly id say I'm the definition of easy going. I love the water, physical work and I love using my brain. While I'm here I really want to learn Spanish, the history of the places I visit and the people.Centres d’intérêt

Oh this is a tricky one.
I live for the water but I almost equally love fiddling with cars and boats. I'm the son of a farmer, I'll have a go at most things happily.
I've got degrees in both marine science and business management aswell as coxswains and masters 5 commercial skippers tickets and a COST.
I've spent the last few years working primarily on boats doing everyone thing from ferry runs to taking one planet documentries through horizontal falls in the Kimberlys. Previously though I've done a lot of hospitality work, soming along the lines of 7 years worth - everything all the way up from Nobu to the north street store in Aus (have a google, to see one of the busiest cafe / bakery's in Australia). I make coffee, can cook a bacon and egg and love customer service.
Other than that Ive had a heap of strange jobs which I'll list below just incase some of this randomness is useful to someone somewhere: Skipper for surfing, spearing and fishing actitivies, gutter cleaner, swim teacher, concreters Labourer, aquaculture attendant, lab tech, service and maintenance of boats + cars, grounds + maintenance at multiple resorts, reception work, day manager for a summer at a resort on Smith's beach and a everything from clearing tables to management of bars and cafes to boot.Âge
